What do you think the plan is?

I agree.

Cutting Austin would be a worst case scenario. I think both he and the Cowboys can work out a pay cut arrangement that would benefit both parties.

I guess they call it the voice of reason.....I just don't get how these guys call themselves fans, and then think they all can run the Cowboys organization. I've been a fan since 1965. You don't cut players who are part of the team, and are respected members. You get rid of the guys who are just about themselves and money.

In the end they all have to go down that road, but its way too soon for Austin to be leaving.

Once again I agree. The situation would be different if Austin was just another malingering hector who was ill-thought of as a teammate and a player.

Until they have a solid third WR on the roster, the idea of cutting Austin would be ill-conceived.

Our plan is to keep kicking the bill down the road with these contract restructures while we continue to bandaid needs, and cross our fingers that maybe one of these years this core group can make a run.

The plan has been in place for a couple years. They have completely rebuilt the roster, mainly through the draft. They were counting on some vets carrying the team thru the rest of Romo's time. They were let down by Ratliff and Ware do to his injuries, but they seem to have a plan. Last year's draft was to get Tony his toys, now they need to fix the Defense.

They will extend Dez and TSmith and possibly Murray if reasonable. Maybe sign a big FA and a few mid level guys and continue to draft well. With the cap ballooning in the next few years, they have a solid chance to build a Super Bowl contender.

You're assuming the Cowboys have a qualified NFL GM so you're assuming A LOT.

It's not about loyalty so much, it's Miles can't stay healthy anymore and costs too much for a third or fourth WR. If he wants to stay he has to take a 1-2m base salary because of the dead money he has left. They can save 5.5m by designating him a June 1st cut. Dallas paid him very well and now it's turn to show some faith.

It's not about loyalty, I don't believe in loyalty. : ) Austin's only drawback is his unreliable health, otherwise, he is a decent teammate and player.

Austin is worth keeping if he realizes his value/role and takes a pay cut. If he thinks he is too good for what they offer then by all means cut his butt!

Some of my expectations:
They will cut Austin and designate June 1. Retain Ware (Closer to restructure than cut). They will extend Romo into his 40s and borrow from the Lee and Carr contracts. They will someone get a deal done with either Bryant or Tyron Smith and cite that deal as a key offseason player acquisition.

They will draft either Aaron Donald, CJ Mosley or Mike Evans and they will probably do so under the draft room watchful eye of yet another Saudi Arabian Prince... Or Phil Night or an AT&T rep or the owner of Pepsi.

I expect their round 3-5 picks will all be unanimously panned as an overreach and for that matter, their 2nd rounder will also probably be called a reach.

I'd also would guess that whatever we think our strength is, it will become a weakness by the start of the season and we will not have had any contingency plan for that.

This my friend is priceless. Just classic.

"completely rebuilt the roster, mainly through the draft" and yet we had a defense that would have had trouble stopping the Little Sisters of the Poor.

it is good to see the sisters getting some needed sunshine during the photo.

They will restructure ROmo, but his deall had 2 buffer years anyway. They wont add voidable years to his deal...but I bet they add 1 to Ware (2018) if he is retained

I would love to keep Austin but at a min. rate. Add incentives per play with an injury out so that the Cowboys don't get "hamstrung."

We did Lee's with this in mind.
