What do you think the starting OL will look like next year?

The perfect plan is to have a first round pick fall into your lap because he was a murder suspect 24 hours before the draft then sign him for peanuts then have him replace the older vet just as the vet is earning a fat payday. But something about the Leary/lael situation gives me pause. Do they really want to break this thing up before they have to? We know Martin and mo and Byron and some others have contracts that need addressing and we can always use a proven vet defender in FA but I'm feeling like they will try to retain Leary and let Chaz green and lael compete for the RT spot. With green winning it.

So

Tyron
Leary(4yr/$40M)
Frederick
Martin
Chaz green

You are gonna pay Leary 10 mill a year? We're going to give that money to Zack - we've tied up Fred and Tyron after three years. Going to do the same with Martin.

Yea I addressed all that and it's set up sweet right now to have a minimum player slide in for Leary. But I think he's better than lael and they don't have to break this up yet so why do it. I wouldn't call it kicking the can down the road I would call it paying your talent so your young core has stability.

Leary is as good as gone and Green is six feet under. Smith, Collins, Fred, Martin and Free unless a high-round rookie is drafted to start at RT.

I think that the Giants showed the effects of adding defensive linemen that are currently dominant, via the free agency...and the remainder of players should be found via the draft.

The depth is pretty strong on the current roster, and the team can now select top talents and a true draft of roster builders. An offensive right tackle and wide receiver would be nice to add.

I wish they'd play Collins at RT, but I get the feeling that's not the plan.

Green is not reliable in the slightest. Free is OK but a liability every few weeks.

SMITH COLLINS FRED MARTIN ROOKIE?

If they sign Leary with a plan for Colins to compete at RT, then I think they fully expect him to win the job at RT.

I like the idea but I have no idea if they will consider doing it.

I don't see any way that Leary gets 10M per. Fred averages about 9M per and he is an All-Pro Center which is really hard to find.

I see Leary around 6M per with 8M as the max for him. Teams still have the draft reports on this knee that kept him from being drafted.. The Cowboys will not pay Leary 10M per, I'm almost certain of that.

They might go in hoping that Green can be the starter and keep Free as the backup plan.
I'm curious if Free is actually damaged right now, and it is affecting his play?

Remember, we do not have Cooper under contract beyond the playoffs. This is just a look-see. I would not count on him being on the roster.

I know. But they brought him here for a reason. I thought it might've been because Collins wouldn't be back for the playoffs, but it looks like they took him off IR. I don't think Cooper is for this year. If somehow 2 interior OLmen went down, I think they'd go with Looney over Cooper because he knows the system. I think they brought in Cooper to get an extended look and have dibs on signing him in the offseason. If he's legit, I could see them letting Leary go. Maybe they're content on moving Collins to RT and want to see if they should spend the money on Leary at LG.
