newman is a softy too.

Those are just instances but overall these guys have been anything but soft for their careers.

I wouldn't say any of those players are soft and your reasons really didn't do much to prove they weren't.

You can point little stuff out like that on anyone.

Some of you guys kill me. If any of you had a dislocated toe or sports hernia or broken ribs or a seperated shoulder I want to see you out on the field try to run away from 300lb men trying to take your head off.

Yeah I know they get paid millions and you don't but making that much money doesn't make a person heal faster.

I don't think the Cowboys are "soft" at all.

However, that WAS the buzz-word leading up to the Steeler game. It was a big story line leading up to that game. Dallas lost the game, but stayed right with what many consider one of the "toughest" teams in the NFL. So if that matters, that should've settled it.

I think, one of the big problems has to do with a team full of supposed play-makers, individual "stars", etc............I think a lot of guys are just waiting for someone else to make a play. It's certainly possible in a big way that guys are going at 4/5 speed or taking plays off, thinking "no problem, the other guy will do something big". If that's the case, it could be interpreted that the team is "soft", but in reality it's too many guys relying on the "other" Pro Bowler to come through.

You don't have this problem on a team like Atlanta or Miami or Arizona. Teams with a vast majority of guys looking to prove something, not only for the team but for their own free-agency agenda. Everyone plays "hard" and full speed on every play because their individually and collectively hungry and determined.

That's my interpretation on the whole "soft" thing. Too many Cowboys relying on some other "super star" to make a play..................

Nice post...maybe some truth to it. I think because of all the "pro-bowlers" from the year before kinda thought their stuff don't stink...so they skated, or took it for granted that they were going to just walk on the field and BINGO. Game over...

Yeah, you took it to another possibility, but THAT applies as well.

Both thinking that "we have enough talent" and another player will "make a play". And, "we're so talented and heralded and "predicted" that all we gotta' do is "show up". Both are not helpful attitudes.

It's probably a combo of both, but you see it the most when it comes to the whole "finishing" thing. It's a popular buzz-word that's overused, but it applies to this conditions. I saw it a lot with Dallas this year, and I saw every game. Both "finishing" plays, and "finishing" games, you could see the drop off.

So, left with my jaw just dropped, staring at the tube in disappointment........and not getting any answers from Wade, Jerry or whoever, you're left to guess and pontificate on your own as to "what the hell's the problem??????"

And so far, that's the best I could come up with........................Because the problem is NOT TALENT!!

The only tough player we have is Witten.Barber I thought was but cmon,3-4 games? for a lil toe?wow. This team is soft and it starts at the head coach.I also believe that lately warm weather teams dont last if they gotta play in the cold.If AZ was playing in Philly they would lose.AZ actually has a good shot at the Lombardi now.Two warm games.

Are you really this dense? If I smacked your little toe, big toe, any friggen toe with a hammer, I guarantee you would cry like friggen brat and could not walk right for weeks!

Geez...some people's kids!

True Dat...............

Most body parts, you never think of until it's hurt. I once had a hot-fired piece of a 4th of July sparker, the size of a match-head, land in the webbing between my pinkie-toe and next toe on my left foot. It got infected. I was lame for over a month.

I bruised (just BRUISED) two ribs getting thrown from a new horse a couple years ago. Know what? IT ONLY HURTS WHEN YOU BREATH!!!!!

We've all had stuff like this, but are not asked to suit up on Sundays and play 60 minutes of what is BY FAR the most physically demanding and dangerous games ever invented......at the highest, fastest and MOST EXTREME level.

I played my share of football, HS and College. Never approached pro-ball, but still......................anything hurting, and it hurts 50% more on game day.

Guys who don't get this never played the game....................

I never played football because I'm a wimp! However, I played baseball all through my life and one year in College...I was a catcher and first baseman!

I was catching in a game when my left thumb got jacked up, and I was in total pain for weeks! I could not play for freaking weeks! It hurt so bad...

Fingers and toes and the weener are some of the most painful things to get through...!! Toes especially...if you can't walk, you can't do nothing in sports!

But, we do have some SuperMen here in this forum!

Some things happen to men, and MEN only, that only happens ONCE! After that, it'll NEVER HAPPEN AGAIN.

Like, getting kicked in the nuggets. It only happens once, and for the rest of your life, it's like eating and breathing that you're AWARE of that possibility EVER occuring again.

Losing my foot to a sparkler? One time only.
Bruised ribs? Never again.
Trying to pull my own tooth? An experiment NEVER to be repeated.

In Pro Football, you don't have that luxury. Hell, even in practice you could go lame. This isn't painting a house, or fixing a transmission, or waiting tables, or clerking at a bank. Most every other job in life, there isn't some 318 pound guy across from you (who runs the 40 in 4.8) stalking your every move.

I took up boxing (bad experiment) for 18 fights. It was cool for a while, and I was at one point 11-0. Then, you start fighting guys who do this to feed their family. I was boxing because I saw "Rocky". You fight guys who are fighting to feed their kids, and it's like "WHOA dude, RELAX!!!" I ended up 13-9, and that was the end of that crap. It hurts!!!

So, I NEVER question ANY pro athlete who claims injury. I ALWAYS give 'em the benefit of the doubt. Because, unless you've walked a mile in his mocossans, don't judge the Injun..................

Yeah, and it all started when Stephen Jackson of the Rams called the cowboys "soft". But what does he know? He's just a running-back in the NFL.

So, should they cut Barber? Yeah, all those injuries you stated are somewhat manageable...even a taped ankle. But when you cannot freaking walk, now what?

Let me hit your toe...see how you do!

Will you still trot out on the field? Or will you become "soft"...
