I wouldn't say no to Johnson from Houston either but I don't know that he would be available.

You know... its funny... what I want from a WR is.... what Moss and TO possess. No not the sideshow stuff or the media created stuff.

I am talking WANTING to play the game to make a BIG IMPACT.

TO was bad, he was this... he was that... .but in the end... he wanted the ball... he wanted to win.

Same goes for Moss

Moss was bad, he didnt play the whole(his teams were blowing chunks when that happened) then he didnt have a REAL QB... so he lost the desire... alot of us would be guilty of that....AGAIN in the end... he wanted the ball... he wanted to win.

I want THAT guy. He doesnt have to be ELITE like TO and Moss.... but he WANTS to make a difference. Most of all... he WANTS to make a difference AS A DALLAS COWBOY... ie. Bigg Davis, Tank Johnson - those guys are ecstatic about being on this team.

Randy Moss.

Signing Moss away from the Pats = signing Deion away from 9ers '94 season.

Signing Moss would take the O from great to unstoppable.

Plus weaken the Patsies considerably.

Roy Williams..he was raised a cowboy fan.Its been his dream to play for the Cowboys. He knows what it would mean to have that star on his helmet.
He's from Odessa Texas (Odessa Permian).
I say this cause I live in Odessa too and met the kid..:)

Thank you Doomsday because these guys think the Roy Williams and Larry Fitzgeralds of the world just come to your team because you ask. Above is a list of the AVAILABLE receivers next season. Not WISHFUL thinking receivers. Sure, I would love to have Chad Johnson and Randy Moss on the outside and T.O. in the slot but I just dont think that Santa is bringing me that for Christmas.

Let's get real guys and stop all this foolishness.

Now with that said, I do see Jerry making a splash this off-season for some receiver help.

Why? Well, it is safe to say that this is Terry Glenn's last season (if he comes back this season). He will be an old 34 year old receiver in the off-season. Not a young one like T.O. He will be coming back from multiple injuries from his knees to his ankles. I just dont see Jerry depending on him to contribute next season with his cap number. I think he will be forced to retire or volunteer to retire.

Also, I think with Crayton not being signed that the Cowboys will let him walk after this season and he will have plenty of suitors. As a second receiver, he could very well end of with over 1000 yards and 10 tds this season! He will definitely be looking for a big payday.

I dont see any splash above with the Free Agent Receivers but I do see something happening. How about trading Bobby Carpenter and a third round pick for Chad Johnson?

I dont think Moss will ever happen in Dallas.
It would have happened this year if any.

I would rather get a Roy Williams/Andre Johnson/Boldin/Fitz teamed up with TO and win it all.

It just wasnt meant for Moss to be in Dallas... first Irvin stopped and now TO stopped it

It's not a bad list either. Bryant Johnson got burried at Arizona and hasn't had a decent QB. BJ Johnson would be worth signing just because of his porn name and he was pretty good at Texas, he just couldn't stay healthy enough to make a roster. It was reported that we were interested in him in 2006....

T.O. was getting the ball in Philly. He wanted his :jackpot:

Jerry knows about money and knows he needed to take care of the one thing that will make T.O. happy again.

That's why T.O. is no longer a problem. That and we're getting him the ball.

Randel El maybe worth a look if he comes with a reasonable price tag. Don't think he's production is great over the past several yrs but he could be our Wes Welker in the slot!!!

Doomsday101, how certain are you on this list?

I was sure Moss signed a one year deal with NE.

If Moss is availible, I cant imagine a better fit.
His talents are a PERFECT compliment to TO.

Moss grew up a Cowboy fan. At this point in his career, if landing in big D is at all possible in 2008, I'd have to think he'd make it happen.

I think Jones could pull it off. Give Moss 4 years 30 mil. Assuming TO maintains his level of play and OUTSTANDING behavior, I'd reward him with a 2 year extention.

The Cowboys could then sign ME and a couple of my buddies to fill out the roster and STILL have the best receiver core in football.

I do think we need a young stud with the potential to be a first or second WR on this team. I think Crayton is a great 3rd WR. I think Stanback is a really intriguing prospect but could still take a couple years to mold.

That being said, Glenn is at the end of the road. His knee is bone on bone. His speed is not guaranteed to return. I hope he gets 2 games in regular season to shake off the rust and then contributes as a deep threat in playoffs for us. If we get another season out of him next year as a role player that would be total bonus. Basically though, his time is in next 18 months at most.

TO isn't young anymore either. It takes a couple years usually to develop WR's. We either need to draft one pretty high AND hit on that guy (which is a big IF on WR's just ask Detroit). If TO went down we'd be in trouble.

Not sure if Hurd or Austin can make another step up or if they are as good as they are going to get.

I'd love Larry Fitzgerald, but don't know anything about his contract situation. Is he an unrestricted free agent as I've seen stated? I didn't think so. Plus, Arizona would be stupid not to transition tag or franchise this guy, worst case scenario, even if he truly wanted to leave. I think his upside and youth and (like so many other Arizona players) potential to do better in a change of scenery make him the most desirable guys out there if there is even the slightest sliver of a chance.

I'm not a huge fan of Cinci's Johnson and don't think he'd be a great fit with TO (only so much ME attention to go around).

I would really like to use our two first round picks and 2nd round pick on CB, WR, and RB, in no particular order. Adding speed at the skill positions would really push this team into super strong and deep status. I don't want to package players. If we can add 3 skill positioned high round draft picks I think it would be superior to one guy drafted higher after packaging a bunch of picks.

Realistically Dallas won't sign another big name WR free agent... T.O. looks like he can play another 3 years honestly!

I hope a WR who can stretch the field with his speed is on our radar, I miss Glenn's speed, or the threat of his speed on the deep routes.

Hard to say if we would sign a FA WR or not. May just spend one of the high draft picks on one and call it a day.

Draft - WR

Second or 3rd

Or think Wes Welker or Shaun "Lil Mac" McDonald types in free agency. We could use a quick slot guy to rotate in if Glenn is done.

I don't think TO and Moss would do well on the same team!! Maybe they could share the ball but I don't see it!

If Glenn is done, the perfect replacement would be Donte Stalworth. He is not listed as a FA, but very likely could become one. He has a minimal cap hit if cut and large bonuses due come March. He has 4.3 speed and plays similar to Glenn.

Having said that, I'm not sure what our cap situation will be - especially if they have to franchise Flo to get another year of development out of Free and Marten.
