What happened to Dez's RAC

Is it just me or does it seem like Dez has lost some of his run-after-catch ability? Seems like he goes down fairly easily after first contact, while in previous years it was tough to get him down. I remember his running skills when he was taking punt returns to the house--I haven't really seen much in that regard this season.

Lack of opportunities more than anything.

He's been top 10-15 in RAC in previous seasons, however, he's not even Top 40.

He's had some of those WR screens thrown his way where I thought he'd be able to make the DB miss or power through him, but it hasn't really been effective.

Our QB doesn't throw the ball to pass catchers to put them in position to run after the catch.

He hasn't had his opportunities. 5 weeks is a rather small sample size. Those 150 yard 2 touchdown games will come, just wait.

this is his greatness weakness IMO.

That and losing focus of the situation. Like that play on 2nd and long where he had the first down pretty easily (for him) but tried dancing around for the huge gain, and he ended up getting tackled just short of it. It didn't change anything as we picked up the first down on the next play, but anytime you can get the first down you do it.

I agree, but the reason his RAC was so good is because of him never giving up and dancing around for a huge gain. You have to take the good with the bad with players like him who always want more.

He's been bracketed an awful lot early in games, which is why 83 is scoring so much. He did sideline a guy with an extended elbow or whatever it was this weekend, that counts, right?

He looks like he's running hard after the catch still to me. I haven't really seen him in position to rack up the RAC short of outright breaking a solid tackle yet that I can remember.

I think we might see some this weekend, as I don't expect SEA to give him all that much special attention if we can get our running game working.

From what we've been seeing he hasn't had a whole lot of chances to catch the ball in space and do those things. Those chances will happen, especially if Williams continues to make people pay for leaving him 1 on 1. The more 1 on 1 that Dez winds up with later in the season (Due to Murray running the ball so well and Williams playing well on the other side) the more often you're going to see chances for RAC.

It's also worth mentioning that the last couple of years Dez really seemed to come on stronger the second half of the year and I would expect that to happen again this year.

What happened to the plan of moving him around more. Going in motion. I still think he could be deadly and get those yards by using him in the slant. like Irvin, that was almost unstoppable. Weren't they practicing that in the OTA's?
Or am I missing some thing?

hes playing smarter and not risking big hits for minimal gain, like hes been coached to do. before when he would claw and fight against a group they would just try and rip the ball away while taking shots at him. he even said this year that you have to know when you are down. this happens to be Murrays problem right now. hes fumbling just before hes down
