What happened to the flea flicker?

Our offense is so good that we don't have to resort to trickery anymore. Maybe Bledsoe's limitations had something to do with those types of calls. We don't run reverses much anymore either. It is essential that Romo stay healthy. He is such a difference maker.

I still think its in the playbook, just waiting for the right time to bust it out.

We should still use it every once in a while. It worked almost every time.

It would be sweet if they use it on Sunday night, successfully of course.

I was actually thinking that Sunday would be the perfect time to use it early in the game as it could be a shoot out and a quick gut punch could really snatch up the momentum.

I was really, really, really expecting us to break it out during one of the previous games....especially the Philly game.

I'm sure it's coming though....

What I want to know is where are all those option passes from Skyler Green that we were supposed to be seeing? :D

As for the flicker... I think we'll see it in a tight game where we're running the ball really well.

So far it appears Romo is a slow starter. He probably needs some time to settle in so I'm doubtful we would use any trickery plays early in the game. We need remember that for all that Romo is doing he has only played in 6 1/2 games and is still getting his feet wet.

I was thinking the same thing..why haven't we used it.

Why not throw a WR screen to Crayton..a former QB and have him throw a pass.

Or have Crayton on a reverse throwing a pass.

OR

I have never understood this...

remember that Bruce Coslet play where the TE falls over then gets up and it wide open on one side of the field..that play ALWAYS worked.

Why don't we EVER run that play?

Oh dear God, did you just call for a piece of the Bruce Coslet offense to make it's return? :laugh2:

How many times dot the the SB teams in the 90's use trick plays. Great teams do not need trick plays. But on another note they are pretty fun to watch because it is amazing that even at the pro level a HS play can still work.

Someone mentioned to me earlier tonight that we'd used the flea flicker earlier in the year, but it was botched.

I seem to remember that as well.

Are we wrong?

But this isn't the 90s. I absolutely loved the gadget play the Steelers ran against the Bengals last year in the playoffs.

Last time I remember a flea flicker was when Bledsoe was still playing this year. I don't think it worked, but I can't recall which game it was. It's completely overused by alot of teams now.

The Giants game. Arrington touched Bledsoe and the flea flicker didn't work.

Bill always likes trick plays. Last week's version was sneaking Barber in at fullback. You see a lot more when the offense is so bad he feels it's his only hope, but I bet we'll see at least one flea flicker before the season is over.
