What happened to the NASCAR package?

They did run it at least once Sunday, but it was Jack Crawford instead of Gregory on the outside. I think they are waiting until Gregory is no longer on a "pitch count".

They played snaps with Hardy at DT and Gregory at DE with Crawford at the other DT spot. I'm not certain who was at the other DE spot other than Jack Crawford was at LDE on one of them.

Hardy had a sack playing DT.

Nope, he was on the outside and Hardy was at DT. Crawford was the LE and Hardy was the 1 tech.

The funny thing is that they did use that package with Hardy and Crawford as the DTs with Gregory at DE but the OP thinks it never happened.

I mean Randy played like 8 first half snaps and am unsure if he got any significant work in the 2nd.

Hopefully this was just working Randy back in slowly.

I will say this: If Dallas somehow does make it to the post season, then it will be all the sweeter for us. The NFC better hope they don't sneak in.

I don't think anybody else in the NFC wants any part of a Dallas team in the post-season with a healthy Romo and Dez Bryant.

Yes, I saw a lot of different mixtures out there. I think at one point we had Lawrence at RE, Crawford at DT, Hardy at DT and Jack Crawford at LE. I believe we also had Mincey at LE some with Hardy either at the other DE spot or inside at DT.

I'd have to go back and look, but I think we limited Gergory's snaps ... so I'd expect his role at RE to expand.

Just an example of a fanbase getting overly hyped about something...happily egged on by the Jerry Jones PR machine.

DeMarcus has never proved a thing. Gregory is just a rookie.

Overhyped...followed by unrealistic expectations. Most NFL passing plays get the ball out mighty quick these days...you will rarely see 5, 6 sacks in a game nowadays unless the quarterback is RG FolLee... or some rookie.

That is really a package you will see more when Dallas gets some decent sized leads in a game. With Romo and Dez being out and the OL having to get healthy, it has been a real uphill battle to get any kind of substantial lead, unfortunately.

Against the Giants, they just couldn't get out in front enough to put the Giants in a whole lot of passing situations. Plus, when that RB with the crazy name started gashing the defense on runs, I knew right then that we wouldn't see a whole lot of the nickle pass rush line.

It will be there once Dallas can get a decent lead and put the other team in a passing/come-from-behind mode.

My guess is that we won't see that package a whole lot outside of 3rd and long. So, with how well the Giants ran the ball yesterday, it wasn't used much.
