I'm not sure if this qualifies as a Rumor or not because there is no link and he has already signed with Oakland but here is what I know.

A funny thing happened on the way to Dallas....

I talked to my cousin tonight who is a sheriff in CO. I gave him grief over the whole Walker to Dallas/Miami thing.

Apparently, While the Cowboys were in negotiations with Walker's agent to get him to Dallas for a visit, Walker had a conversation with a friend on the Raiders. I don't know who that was. He said that this friend was asked by Al Davis to help spread the grease for him to get Walker to Oakland first. Walker flew to Oakland without letting his agent know first and met with this friend. While he was there Davis contacted the agent and an official visit was arranged.

Davis wowed them with the offer and they never looked back.

This is coming from my cousin who was told this by his friend who is also a Sheriff in the Denver area.

Anyway, that is, from what I understand, what happened and why Walker didn't make the trip to Dallas or Miami for that matter.

For those who were interested. :)

No matter how it happened, it was a crazy offer he couldn't possibly turn down. I doubt he gets half that from anyone else. Crazy old coot.

I'm sure that explains why it went down the way it did. I'm sure the agent talked contract parameters with both Jerry and Parcells and knew they were not going to get what he got from the senile one.

Even an arrogant guy like Walker, whom i would guess has a Major over inflated opinion of himself, had to be shocked at money he'll make over the next 3 years. If he were totally healthy, he might be worth 9 mill per, but with the knees and the questionable tude i figured he'd have to take a TO type deal.

Gotta wonder what TO and R. Moss are thinking right now.

With the Walker and Moss deals, TO has to want a new deal. He's not talking now, but come camp? I hope Jerry reworks his deal for a couple more years and keeps him happy. I wouldn't go crazy on the deal, but if Flo, who's 33 is worth the cash one would think TO should get a bump.

Tons of difference between a 33 year old tackle and a WR ????

Regardless of the contract they can have him.

Add that contract in and I am really glad he isn't a Cowboy.

I'm sure the agent for Walker picked up the phone and made feelers to Miami and Dallas about if their offers would approach the Oakland deal before going back in to agree.

I can hear both Parcells and Jerry on the 3 Way Call both saying NO in stereo and hanging up immediately.

Hahhaaa..
