What will the vibe be here? Will we forget he was drafted to be 3rd string and forced into the starting lineup?
Im praying to God he doesn't.. can you imagine the feeling around here? We finally have a future or at least that's what we think. And for Dak to be a bust in the regular season I can see suicide watch on High alert in Cowboy nation.

I mean, I don't anticipate him stinking it up that bad, but when it comes to rookies, you just never know what you have. Once the lights come on, we just don't know even though we've seen him be a staple of poise during the preseason. I just know that there will be some who will automatically look to the future as they did with Moore.

I treat it the same way I would if he lights it up...as one game out of 16. Long way to go.

How bad can Dak stink it up?
As long as there is a good center to QB exchange and Dak can cleanly hand the ball to Zeke and Morris then he would have done his job like a 10 year veteran.

If he really stinks then we most likely pick high and scout QBs again. I don't think he will though. We should dominate on the ground and he can just manage the game but he can make plays in pocket and running as well.

I am expecting him to struggle. Anything above "struggling" will be gravy.

Sigh, that's my thought as well. Any rookie in his first game will struggle.

I just want to see enough of him, the team, and the play calling to determine if we can grow.

I have said it before: I think at a minimum he is an NFL backup QB which now a days has a lot of value. They just need to see if he is a one or two.

No one should be surprised if he doesn't live up to the hype. He's a 4th round rookie. I mean in reality he's more likely to be mediocre than awesome.

We will see very soon.

I am expecting something along the lines of what the Broncos got from Siemian last night. Decent complete rate, around 200 yds passing, a few ill advised passes/decisions. He just has to be a game manager. We say it all the time.....and sometimes I think we get too cute with Romo in there instead of just sticking with what works.

I don't like the fact that so much pressure is on him in the first place. Ideally, he wouldn't have to take a snap for the next 2 years until Romo walks off into the sunset. He'd have all the offensive pieces in place, 2 years learning from a future Hall of Famer, and hopefully a much improved defense by that time... But the reality is, he's being thrown into the fire his first game as a rookie, in a division bad enough stay in contention no matter how many times you lose, with the pressure of rushing the savior Romo back too early, with no defense to speak of. Hopefully we aren't setting him up for disaster.

I think that will happen but the difference with Dak is that he has the ability to escape pressure. Siemian was dead on a lot of Carolina blitzes. Dak can move around to by some more time or take off and run. I remember that Siemian int where he threw off his backfoot. If it were Dak, he probably would be able to turn the corner and deliver a strike instead of lobbing it.
