What will the vibe be here? Will we forget he was drafted to be 3rd string and forced into the starting lineup?
At least we will know what to do next year. Go QB in the 1st round. Not knowing what Dak has is the worst possible scenario.

If Dak stinks it up it's going to be a rude awakening for those who thought he would pick up in the regular season where he left off in preseason. If our defense sucks and we find ourselves in a lot of long down situations Dak will struggle. There's no doubt he'll struggle some just hoping to see some of the impressive plays he made during the preseason in the regular season. Even in losses we can take something good from them if Dak plays pretty good and we're seeing him develop. Troy Aikman went 0-11 his rookie year but there were some good things from his performances in those losses they gave me hope for the future.

Could happen... He played great through 6 quarters of preseason, but I do think people should put away the anointing oil for now... That said, I also have high hopes for Dak and I am super excited to watch him play! Just not as excited as I'll be once Romo returns... I'm 5x more confident in Dak at this moment than I was with Weeden or Cassell last season, but I'm 100x more excited to watch him play than I ever was with those two jokers...

That said, we do have a pretty good team this season, but the best version of this team in 2016 is the one with Romo taking snaps...

I predict Romo will not get seriously injured again this season... And I also predict that once he gets through the first couple games to knock the rust off, he's going to reestablish himself as one of the game's best QB's.

I think he will have a decent night although I don't know how I'm nervous already

What happens if he stinks it up?

They play another game next week for him to learn and fix his shortcomings

I hope they let Dak do what Denver did with Siemian. Let the guy go out there and make mistakes and play. Let Dak run an offense like he's the number 1 qb and not just holding the reins until Romo comes back. Last thing we need is to have Dak play the game safe and waste his talent by the coaches turning him into a mini-Weeden/Cassell. This sort of gameplan will mean he WILL make more mistakes than normal, but it'll be worth it so we can really see what we have in the guy.

I doubt that he'll "stink it up" but if he fails to live up to what we're expecting, let's not over-react, OK, fellas? He's still only a rookie who will be experiencing his first taste of NFL football. It's important for a rookie not to be subjected to impulsive, knee jerk negativity. Just have patience.

Then we will once again have a very high draft pick, and hopefully that draft pick is Myles Garrett

I don't really see him stinking it up. I think he'll be just alright.

But he just a rookie so, you know, low expectations.

Hopefully we managed to get a Romo, Brady, Wilson come out of nowhere type QB.

Personally I think there's little reason for him not to excel so I'll be disappointed if he doesn't light the Giants up. I sincerely believe we could put any current starting qb in the NFL, most back ups and most qb's taken in the first 3-4 rounds in this years draft and they would all do well. Other than more complicated defensive schemes he doesn't have an excuse and those schemes should be taken out of the equation with our running game.

He is surrounded by an all star cast. He has the best O line in the NFL, top running back, top reciever and top tight end. All he has to do is not wet the bed. Just our running game should open up our receivers and Witten (the Giant killer).

The Giants defense has a few new additions but they were dead last, last year. Romo's last minute drive looked impressive at the time until we saw what a joke of a defense the Giants had. I believe they lost 8 games in the final 75 seconds or something like that. Sorry, got distracted, lol.

Anyways, anything but offensive domination will be considered a failure IMO. BTW, I know our defense is lack luster but the Giants O line is the laughing stock of the NFL so we that should even us out on defense.

Fans, such as yourself, who have shown a propensity to pounce on anything negative concerning the Cowboys will again do the same.

When I think "stinking it up" as a rookie playing in their first game, I think of Quincy playing Tampa as a rookie. The dude couldn't even throw an NFL pass at that point.

Dak will have his ups and downs but we know he can at least make all the throws and can make plays with his legs if need be.

I mean, I don't anticipate him stinking it up that bad, but when it comes to rookies, you just never know what you have. Once the lights come on, we just don't know even though we've seen him be a staple of poise during the preseason. I just know that there will be some who will automatically look to the future as they did with Moore.

No one other the Floaty looked to any future with Moore.
