What happens if they put Clay Mathews on Parnell

I like Parnell and he's tough but he's tall and upright and would lose a guy like that constantly. Could be a game wrecker . We can't have a cold stiff romo getting hit like last week. We need more dinks and dunks and chains movers

Matthews matches up poorly to just about every OL in the league. I just made a thread about Parnell and how I'm not a big fan after Sunday, but Matthews scares me against anyone. It's the line's job as a whole to account for him and Romo's job to know where he is.

If they do then we will need the TE or RB to chip him and for Romo he will have to determine very quickly is the Blitzer coming or dropping out

Hopefully Linehan's past experience will help in strategizing against this NFC North team,,, so far everybody seems to have a hard time reading/adjusting to blitzes though and I don't get where the problem lies. We've got a vet QB, solid smart players, excellent line coaching.... Do they spend so much time practicing their run blocking that the pass blocking suffers? It's not just Parnell I worry about.

Skins in the 1st game blitzed and got there Dallas seemed a lot more prepared for it the 2nd time around as the Cowboys were able to burn the Commanders. Lions I think caught Dallas off guard since they do not blitz often yet in this past game they did. However Dallas did adjust and did a better job in stopping it even though they still got a couple of sacks late in the game, much of that was on Romo not lack of protection

Yeah I don't think anyone anticipated the blitz looks shown by Detroit in the first half. That was a heckuva game plan by them. That we didn't anticipate from Washington was just a poor gameplan all around because Haslett has been doing it for like 5 years lol.

It would be better if the team didn't waste half the game figuring out they need to be ready for certian blitzes and that the ball needs to come out sooner to a predetermined route,,,

True but Hasslett system cost them big time in the last game as dallas picked it up and was able to get the 1 on 1 matchups that favored us greatly.

It's amazing more teams didn't copy cat that game by the Skins. Detroit did until our second half adjustments.
Against GB we need to be ready for it on the opening whistle.

I agree and with GB they know what to expect in terms of the blitz being utilized. I will give credit to the other team as well but out coaching staff and players have done a pretty damn good job we have put up big points. They know what they are doing.

We have handled Matthews very well in the past. He won't beat us. The only guys on that entire GB team that worry me are named Rodgers and Nelson.

I'd be just as concerned with Free as with Parnell.

Parnell's problem is assignments, not physically blocking a guy. While Free would most likely always be in the right position, Matthews could simply overpower him. He won't be able to do that to Parnell.

Which one game 1 or game 2 vs Commanders because we toasted the skins with that blitz in the 2nd outing. I give them credit they blitzed knocked Romo out of the game but that last game Romo and the Cowboys ate them up. That is the risk of the blitz if you don't get there well we have weapons to make teams pay.

I would include Lacy in that list. He can hurt you if you're not careful. Having said that, I'm confident in our run D. They've been holding up pretty well.

I think possibly the coaches can't call as many quick 3step routes bc romo is short and they're not super effective or romo isn't 100% confident bc he needs the throwing lane.

But then when he hits Beas or dez kill you so they need to figure out which ones work .

Ps that big Beasley play by the sideline with the broken tackle was a last second audible my romo. I noticed Murray went for a handoff and the line run blocked.
