Yeah they did a number on us, but this group learns. If GB wants to blitz bring it on, bring safeties up then Dallas needs to go through the air, drop safeties back we run it
The 'decision making" that I tend to notice is really just how he and Zach Martin interact. They really don't seem to be on the same page like Free and he were at all times, which probably comes from those two working together since day one at Training Camp.
I have not seen that as much of a problem in terms of Pass Protection. There was the play against the Lions where it appeared that Parnell might have blocked the wrong guy or Martin was supposed to help but didn't, but in general I have not noticed much of an issue in decision making on Pass Pro between those two. There are times that Martin can't get off of his initial block on a stunt and he and Parnell end up blocking 1 guy while the other guy comes free to the inside, but that's more of a technique or physical issue than a decision issue.
It's much more difficult to determine in run blocking who is supposed to block which defender. If you said they had an occasion issue communicating in run blocking I could see that more than in Pass Protection.
I could be remember it incorrectly. If you can point to a few specific plays I could review those and discuss them. In general I review each play on the broadcast and on each of the two angles provided by the All-22. Of those 3 views I generally watch each at least 5 times per snap and more on many snaps. My top focus in reviews is always the OLine followed by the DLine.
SOrry I didn't read the context, but I have noticed that more in run blocking than in pass blocking. The only pass block play was a stunt against washington where I think neither of them blocked a man and they both came free.
And in either case, it's hard to point blame. It could be Martin making a mistake that free would clean up, or Martin is doing the right pickup but Parnell misses it. It's impossible to know without understanding the coaching scheme. It's just an issue that needs to improve, and likely will in time.
The biggest issue in the Lions game in terms of pressure was Romo holding the ball too long. In the 2nd half they started running more routes short and in the middle of the field which allowed Romo to get rid of the ball faster.
This is the 1st of 6 starts this season by Parnell where he allowed a sack. There is no need to panic.
I like Parnell and he's tough but he's tall and upright and would lose a guy like that constantly. Could be a game wrecker . We can't have a cold stiff romo getting hit like last week. We need more dinks and dunks and chains movers
Basically the same trap Jason Garrett offenses always fall into.
We've been better at it the last month by using Beasley and Witten more but dang how many times are we going to play with fire running these long drawn out routes?
Also, what was the deal with all of the formations with Murray not on the field? That was a head scratcher.
Romo didn't throw to the quick out and in that Beasley etc ran but that doesn't mean the route was not run. The 4 go routes with a deep in is rarely called and wasn't this past game.
What im not liking is there is only 1 option to get rid of the ball quick.
That 4th and 6 play to Witten, if he doesn't get open after he is covered, then we are doing the rely on Romo to do everything by buying time routine. You just can't consistently depend on that.
Matthews is a shell of his former self. He's still solid but, I'm more concerned with Mike Daniels . He's an a beast and their best defender. Ron Leary has to be big .
This.Dallas needs to worry about running the ball versus GB.
The rest isn't all that important.
This is a week to pound the rock and get a game control victory.
Wear out the defense for GB and protect Romo with the running game.
Matthews is a good player but he doesn't want Tyron and Parnell run blocking him.
