What have you made your wife/husband/gf/bf do so you could watch the game?

my girlfriend watches the games with me. She's a Dallas native like I am though, so didn't take much work.

My husband is a Saints fan...and in his defense, I'm the one living in enemy territory. He watches Cowboy games because he says they're his "2nd favorite team".

Me and my wife have been married for 25 years. We had been married for a couple years and the Cowboys were in the NFC championship game. We had friends over and her and another lady were preparing the food. My wife cut her finger badly while opening a can. It needed stitches and I didn't know what to do. The game had just Started! She knew how much I loved the Cowboys so her friend took her to the ER to have it sewed up. She didn't get mad at me but I did feel kind of bad about it..lol

Wow! :(

My Fiancee is Vietnamese/Chinese. She watches games with me- has learned most of the rules and really gets into it. She can spot false starts before I can. She even doesn't say a word when I watch DVRed games of other teams. She has a little trouble understanding why I watch, say, the Cowboys/Eagles game 2-3 times. I try to explain that I can finally relax knowing they won and really enjoy it.
You got to look thru the whole bucket of Oysters before you find the one with a pearl in it :)

PS. I live in San Jose, CA around a bunch of die hard Niner fans. After listening to them blow off their mouths the past 3-4 years, they don't like me very much this year :). I told them to put their gold-sleeved Niner jackets back in the attic in plenty of mothballs.

My wife tends to watch the games with me. It's normally less about her wanting to see the game and more about her being amused at my various reactions. I pace, I yell, I talk to no one in particular, etc. I'm sure it's very entertaining.

My girlfriend usually lasts about a quarter and then naps on the couch. I try to "cheer quietly" but she's inevitably woken up every half hour or so by angry yelling or excited cheering.

Me watching football all day Sunday isn't a problem for my Japanese wife. When we first got married she asked her Japanese friends married to American guys if there was something wrong with me since I 'sat around and watched football from 1 pm to 11:30 pm'. Her friends assured her that it is 'normal' behavior and not to worry.

Trying to squeeze in college games on Saturday and Monday Night and Thursday Night games is a challenge. Needless to say, I am on my best behavior during football season. I also bribe her with Coach bags, shoes, sushi, and cook a lot for her. Making her a good cheesecake works wonders.:)

This is the best response so far. LOL...especially at bolded part. Hope that's not exaggerated. :lmao:

My most recent GF leaves me alone when Cowboys games are on. She knows how annoyed I get especially when she tries having conversations while the game is on. I let it be known she has to leave me alone while the game is on. So she occupies herself.

My Last Ex, I could not pull that **** with her. She was Colombian, and Dominican mixed. So imagine how she was. She would ***** if she did not get her way. Did not care if the cowboys were on, if she wanted my attention, she had to have it. Sometimes she would let me have my way, but she got mad whenever the cowboys would play. Throughout my whole life, I would and could cancel anything for the cowboys, with her? Hell Naw. She would not let that **** slide.

All my other Ex's would understand and join or do their own thing.

No current GF, but in the past they know better than to talk to me during Cowboys games unless it's during commercial.

A typical Wednesday conversation..

"Hey babe, you ready?" (her)
"Ready... for what?" (me)
"I told you we were having dinner with xxxxx tonight!"
"Uh, what? When did you tell me that?"
"Sunday, during the Cowboys game!"
"You know better than that."

I am thinking that my significant other being a Cowboys fan is pretty much a must right now. A mediocre girl in a Cowboys jersey immediate goes up 2 points like I put on beer goggles.

I sign her up on match.com every Friday and have her a daylong date lined up for Sunday. He comes picks her up every Sunday morning and drops her off Sunday evening, unless, were playing on Monday, he keeps her till Tuesday.

*joking*

I'm much the same, though I have mellowed out from my youth.

My girlfriend is completely indifferent towards sports, especially football.

She usually lets me watch Dallas on the big TV, but thankfully we have multiple TVs, video game consoles, \ wi-fi, etc. to keep her occupied...

Otherwise, it would probably spiral into a brawl for the remote...
