It’s an honest question, because I’m really struggling to find any.
The team will be lucky to win 7 or 8 games this year, with a lack of talented players at many positions. Sure we have more draft picks, but we certainly haven’t been knocking it out of the park in the draft the last couple of years. And as a result, we haven’t been able to replace the talent we have lost in free agency. Even when we draft generational talent, we trade them away, and instead sign mediocre talent (Lamb and Smith being exceptions) to inflated contracts.
Let’s face it, Jerry’s decision making is not getting any better, and even when he’s gone, it’s becoming more apparent Stephen will be no better. We cannot attract talented coaches because of Jerry, so the country club culture will continue indefinitely.
So, I’ll ask again. What hope do you have in the Cowboys being a Super Bowl contender?
I think it’s probably harder for us as a fanbase to accept the trajectory of this franchise, because we were once upon a time the team everybody was chasing. Now, everyone is lapping us.
Thanks, Jerry.
