Is that we had no trouble passing the ball and moving the ball in the 90's with only one WR which was Irvin. Granted we had Emmitt, but I'm talking the passing game.

Last year we had no trouble passing the ball and we only had TO/Witten

The first two games of the year we had no trouble moving the ball.

Yet all of a sudden defenses are shutting TO down and our offense is stagnant? There isnt really much of a difference in all these scenarios.

I'm all for the trade for Roy, but why is it now that our offense has become stagnant and needs another WR to open things up?

Actually for most of the top years we had Irvin and Harper, and Novacek really counted for a lot. BUT you must also remember that back then it was a running league and we had the best runner. NOW its a passing league and every good team has at least 2 good CBs and/or a good FS. You really need 2 threats at WR to keep the D honest. Witten, as great as he is, cannot do that.

It was the OL and the fact we could run it whenever we wanted. Our OL is inconsistent and so is our running game.

We pretty much have the same offense as last year, yet teams have been shutting us down lately.

TO did have a stretch of relatively quiet games last year too if I remember.

The St Louis, Buffalo, and Pats game he was pretty quiet before exploding in his next 6 putting up over 100 yards in 5 of 6 and catching 10 of his 15 TD's in 6 games.

Hopefully we see a similar explosion this year with Roy Williams to take away some coverage.

We got shut down at times last year, too.

Last year, we had six games when we scored two offensive touchdowns or less, including three straight in Weeks 5, 6 and 7. This year, we've scored at least three offensive TDs in every game.

This year, our lowest yardage in a game is 344. Last year, we had four games with fewer yards.

Last year, Romo had 300 yards passing in less than half of our games. This year, he has at least 300 in four out of six games.

Last year, Romo had more than two TD passes in six games. This year, he's already had four games like that.

This year, we've had three games with at least 167 yards rushing. Last year, we had that many rushing yards only twice all season.

Never mind that our "struggling" offense this season is No. 1 in offensive points per game, No. 3 in yards per game, No. 2 in yards per play and No. 1 in third-down conversions.

Our Defense and ST's are underachievers who can't hold their own because the coaches on tat side don't have them motivated and focused. Our Offense turns the ball over in the worst parts of the field. This is an undisciplined football team that has totally disregarded the fundamentals. The offense moves the ball and scores points. It's not the problem. Being undisciplined and fundamentally deficient is.

it is pretty simple. Patrick Crayton can only get open against zone defense. Teams that have the ability to play man give us trouble. You can man up Roy if you want to...you are going to get beat. Even at this advanced age, TO is having trouble with press coverage. Not so with Roy. 3 wide...1 TE.....1 RB....murder.

I think TheRake has summed up our team nicely. The lack of discipline in most phases of the game has seriously hurt us (no pun intended). We've lost games and looked bad in games we won. Change is now upon us and we'll see how it goes.
