What I hope Romo takes away from last night...

I hope Romo realized that yeah it's all fun and games to have just this explosive offense that has a lights out yards per play average but when the time calls for it, it's okay to dink and dunk and methodically move the ball down the field. It just seems like he started to press after the two early picks which led to the other bad decisions that led to INTs. The Bills forced him to throw underneath and to be smarter with the ball on that last TD drive and we quickly, but methodically, moved the down the field for the score. I hope he learned that there will be games where there will not be alot of big plays for big yards. I hope he took a lot from that last drive. I'm not worried about him the least bit because what he has overcome with the snap in the playoffs and 6 turnovers last nite, I know he'll be fine.

We have to run the ball better too. Garrett has to commit to the run also. We were never in danger of losing the game because their offense threatened us and I feel like we abandoned the run too soon early. The line has to do better run blocking. Time of possession played a role but I can't sling it around all day this Sunday. New England is too good for that. That said, Cowboys win.

Don't understand why our OL doesn't run block better. Yes, it's important they pass block but just as much need for opening running lanes which only Davis seems able to grasp lately. A quality RB who can compliment MBIII much better then JJ would also really help. I'm tired of those first & 2nd down plays early in the game where we only able pick up 1 or 2 yards. Need to do much better to avoid Romo putting the ball up 50 times.

I'm not saying this applies to you, personally - but I think there is an interesting study here.

Last year, against Seattle Tony did not test their destroyed secondary deep, because they were playing deep zone coverage and there wasn't much there - but even when there was stuff there, Tony didn't pull the trigger. We lost because we botched a FG, and all offseason all we hear is how stupid the coaching staff was for not testing pete Hunter.

This year, against a far lesser team, Tony keeps chucking it downfield and having it intercepted, when they're giving away the underneath stuff, and there is barely a whisper about how Garrett might have ****ed ths game up.

It's pretty amazing what having red hair will do to discourage criticism.

It is not his hair color, it is that we won the game.

Tony got to stop "eating the cheese" as BP would put it............

We dont have a RB that can make the 1st guy miss............

just as Romo makes the OL look alot better by being able to dodge the pass rush..........we need a RB that can slp the 1st wave of takles....:star:

They alll were eating the cheese as evidence of Patrick Crayton talking of breaking the scoring record.

He has to remember that we have one of the best recievers in the league when it comes to YAC. Owens can take a 5-7 yard crossing route and turn it into a big gain. Even Crayton is pretty good. He took a short pass thirty yards after hurdling a defender. We have seen both Jones and Barber take short passess down field for big gains, also. Witten will carry guys for an extra 5-7 yards on many of the short passes he catches.

Tony has to trust his teammates to make plays. His biggest problem last season was taking the game on his own shoulders instead of being patient and letting the rest of the offense do their jobs. He fell back into that trap Monday night. I love the fire he has and the way he can lift the whole team up but he has to remind himself that just chucking the ball long into coverage isn't the best way to score points.

I think sometimes Tony tries too hard to make up for mistakes with a big play. He let the early interceptions take him down that path Monday night.

Romo had a bad night nothing more and I think too many are over analyzing this bad outing. If this becomes habit and he is constantly playing like he did Monday then there would be reason for concern. 1 bad game? Give me a break, Romo just needs to put this bad outing behind him and move on. Same advice could be said for the fans.

there's not too much overanalyzing. It is what it is and we hope that he learned something out there. Sure, I think it was an anomaly that is not going to happen again but still, there was a lesson to be learned for him out there.

I'm sure Romo like any QB learns things after every game and some of these mistake will happen again just as they do with all QB. I would much more concerned with Romo thinking too much and holding on to the ball too long than just dropping back, making your read and getting the ball out like he has been doing all season which is why he is currently ranked as one of the tops.

Garrett *does* deserve his share of the blame for basically ignoring the short passing game for 4 weeks. 4.75 weeks even. I put just as much blame on the QB though, for not taking what the D was giving him until very late in the game. The coaches can't take all the blame when JJ runs into traffic, they can't take all the blame either when Romo throws into traffic.
