What I want to see tomorrow

Welcome to the board!!

As a Skins fan I'm just curious what do you think of this "strength of schedule argument that Dallas isn't as good as their record because they haven't played anybody good? Just out of pure curiosity, I'm wondering what a non-emotional opinion of that would be from a person from another fan base.

And as a Cowboys' fan, I also am a little nervous about tomorrow because the Commanders matchup well against us and Cousins has been playing well.

In today's NFL I just think it's a weak argument. You can only play who's on your schedule (granted you all do have the benefit of last play NFC-E schedule from last year) - so I think overall you just have to take a record at face value. Scores of individual games don't mean much to me - the NFL is setup to keep games close. The difference is good teams find a way to win the close ones consistently.

I am nervous for the same reasons you are. I think they are really similar teams. I'll just take the silver lining that the NFC E is finally looking like a dominant division again. It's always been the best division in any sport. Love the rivalries.

If Cousins shows up this time, the Commanders will give us all if not more than we can handle.
I hope we win, but I think they will stack the line and run stunts to try for a few stops each half, and I fear our depleated secondary will struggle mightily to cover all their weapons and not give up the big plays behind them. I'll take any win we can get, but I actually think this is the best team left on our schedule...I don't anticipate any early celebrations.

The worst part about a loss is most fans won't take it in stride as a loss to a very good team; it will be Garrett's fault, the old fashioned offense that doesn't work, Jerry not paying for defensive free agents, coaches not getting them ready to play, along with the endless "cut ______ now!" threads....lol.

Yeah? My Skins-fan buddy is talking MAD ****. I think he's just whistling in the graveyard, though.

In any fan base you are going to find people that talk a lot of smack. I'm almost 40 years old, I've learned to never bet on the Commanders (as much as I love them) or I will end up eating my words, haha.

Do I think Skins have reasons to be excited? Sure.
- Cousins playing really well over last 16 game stretch going back to last season
- Robert Kelly is off to a great start as our primary back
- Pash rush has looked a little better the past few games
- Finally won a prime time game for a change
- Been close in every game this season (except one)

But there are plenty of reasons for worry about this game
- Short turnaround on the road (not an excuse, just the nature of the schedule)
- Very questionable run defense
- Still not sold on Skins in primetime/national games

As I mentioned earlier in the thread though - not sure who you all are looking for approval from. Number 1 in numerous power rankings and pretty much picked across the board to win this game. Anyone picking the skins is calling it an "upset" - y'all need to enjoy the ride!

I have very close friends. Some Commander fans and others just haters that are fans of other teams. All think the Skins are going to beat us today. I told em all to come see me at 6pm.

Don't go looking for approval from other teams fans - you will never get it!

Awesome! Thanks for the assist...I'm not worried because a loss doesn't change much at this point...I just think this game will be a struggle. I'd love to see our D turn them away.

Me personally, I'm not looking for approval as much as a different perspective. It's easy to look at your own team with rose colored glasses. I agree with you, I don't think the strength of schedule argument is a good one because I believe that it's not who you play but when you play them. Some teams have a lot of talent but could lose their momentum and mentally be out of it. Or some teams can hit a streak and get things clicking at the right time. That's what makes this game today important and fun to watch. Both the Cowboys and the Commanders are not the teams that played each other week 2. Dak and Zeke and hitting their stride as well as Cousins is playing great. Both teams are in a good place and their seasons are gaining momentum. Today's game is like two trains hitting each other. It'll be fun

The difference in team's schedules within a division is only two games. Divisional rivals all play the exact same schedules aside from those two games, and because teams change so much from year to year, you never know which team has the easier of those two games.

I have to be honest. I am seeing nothing but praise for this team from the media. I really don't see any disrespect thrown our way at all. In fact, we are the talk of the town, so to speak. When discussing the top 2-3 teams in the league, the Cowboys have been in the discussion 100% of the time.

It's honestly just a few dissenting voices and mostly recently. By and large most people have given the Cowboys credit, even begrudgingly at this point. So now all that's left is to poke holes. They've gone from a Cinderella story, to legit contenders so the shock has worn off and everyone wants to be more critical. Just the nature of success

Good game guys, my worst fears were realized as far as the defense. NFCE is legit though! Might get a chance to run it back in the playoffs!
