What if Dak steadily gets worse by seasons end

From what I can find out Cousins would be the QB with the highest QBR to hit free agency without any injury history ever. Peyton Manning and Romo had big injury concerns; he does not.

Maybe the first time Dak throws a TD in the last two minutes of a game I'll feel better. I'll wait for it.

I hope it's the coaching, scheme, receivers, blockers, color of the grass, water boy, owner, stock market and everything else except him.

I shouldn't be surprised by this thread, but really? A "bring in Cousins" thread? Why in the world would the Cowboys give up on Dak after one mediocre season (assuming this season will be mediocre). After only his second season? You can't give up a on a young talented QB like that. Especially a 4th round QB who ended up on the team by dumb luck, and is costing the team practically nothing. Even if Dak were to completely forget how to play QB, Cousins and the massive contract he will command are not the answer. God I hope we win this week. Another loss and I think I'm gonna have to take a break from the madness of this forum until after the bye week. Ahh, that's a lie. I'll be right back here Sunday night

You have not been following that little soap opera. Cousins has made it clear he is done with the Skins front office. He can get just as much elsewhere and not have to put up with Danny Boy.

Winning changes minds.

And they'll have a large contact ready for him to sign.

I'm not sure about that. If they planned on paying him they would have probably done it already. He wants more than they are willing to pay him long term.

It's a valid question. Dak has shown real consistency and accuracy issues. He can hit wide open receivers maybe 80% of the time. Will his accuracy improve enough? Or is it just going to be acceptable he can't throw in a tight window? The Cowboys will never get to that level with a QB who is "just pretty good". As you've seen already, teams have a plan for Dak and it's achieving results. His play action rollouts are going to have a LB waiting for him more often now. Keep him in the pocket. He's average from there.

So is this what it's going to be for the next 3-4 years? You've got to ask yourself...

What young QB has steadily improved every year? Throws with anticipation? Stands in the pocket? Leads his receiver instead of only throwing outs and comebacks? Can make every throw required. And just so happens to be a free agent 2018? Don't tell me you haven't thought about.

Kirk Cousins.

How often does a QB, seemingly ready to take the next step come available to the highest bidder?

1) How awesome would it be for the Skins to be dumb enough to let him get away?
2) How awesome to let him get to a hated rival and have nobody to replace him with?
3) A plug and play QB who has the possibility to throw for 4500 yards if needed.
4) A QB motivated to remind his former team of the mistake they made twice a year for the next 8-10 years.

A pretty bold move to make. One that might be best for the team.

Either way, he won't sign in Dallas. We don't have the cap space.
No way Jerry would ever take Danny Boys leftovers anyway. Cousins is a top 10 QB but just barely. I just loved watching the Skins once again screw up their QB position. Cousins is probably the best they have had (not counting the trick time with RG3) since the good days of Rypien. 25 years +. And the skins still blew the call.

Hes not getting worse. Its just a lot tougher to do his job right now. Oline, run game, defense are all worse.

What if Zeke steadily gets worse by seasons end?
What if the OL (namely TSmith, Frederick, Martin) steadily gets worse by seasons end?
The pain, the excitement, the drama. Inquiry minds want, need, have to know.
Hilarious.

This is the reason I hate my fellow Cowboy "fans".
