What if it happened that Way?

Let's say that the Cowboys signed Brees, at the end of last season, and Romo, was traded to New Orleans.

Would Romo, do in New Orleans, what he's doing in Dallas?, and Would Brees, have the same success here in Dallas? Give your opinions.

Sometimes looking at "what if's" can be entertaining, but when the "what if" is roughly an equal exchange in talent and something that makes no sense from either side I just don't think it's worthwhile even as a topic of conversation.

It's like choosing between a Toshiba 32" TV and a Panasonic 32" TV with virtually identical features - just not much basis for discussion or debate.

After watching the Pats, the Saints, and the Cowboys...to me it looks like those three teams use almost the exact scheme that each other use! Really, while watching the Pats yesterday, if you put Cowboy unis' on them, they look just like the Cowboys, and the same thing for the Saints...

But, I don't think Brees would be as effective with the Cowboys as Romo has just because Romo has been with this team for years longer then just one year if Brees had been signed...

Besides, Romo is going to be better in the long run!

You do have a point but Brees is leading the NFL in passing yardage with 3,486 a staple of a Sean Payton led offense just imagine if Romo started all of the games they way he's played in 5 games he an d Brees, would be neck and neck with passing yardage.

I can't understand all the cynicism generated by this thread. Compared to some of the other drivel that gets posted, I found it to be fairly thought-provoking. As for the actual question, if Brees were here, I imagine we would have a similar record as he'd definately have fared better than Bledsoe during the opening part of the season and likely fared almost as well as Romo during the latter part.

From the looks of Romo, he appears to be special; I'm not quite convinced Brees is special- he strikes me as an above average-to-very good QB (ala Trent Green.) Therefore, I'd rather have Romo. However, I'd be more than happy with Brees.

Well besides totally screwing up the whole routine, I would think it has to set in the east, unless it hooks a left and sets in the north. Talk about wild, I think that would qualify whole heartedly.

But to answer the other question, I think each would be doing ok. Romo might have a tougher time with less receivers, but if everything else was the same, I can see Romo making anywhere he lands. Hes pretty good in his own right, I dont think he needs Glenn/el dorado to make him better. Course, if el dorado would hang on to a few more of the passes, that would make Romos rating better.
