What if the Browns are willing to trade down?

Nobody is really taking that into consideration.

What if something awful on draft day happened like we trade with Cleveland for the #2 pick, us Wentz fanboys get happy and start popping champagne, then all of a sudden the Cowboys take Ramsey......

Nice. lol

this forum would explode
1) due to those wanting Wentz and not getting him
2) due to those not wanting to trade up

Ramsey IS the higher rated prospect .
But oh yes, it would be chaos

I could live with Ramsey at 4 eemven if I want a QB. Taking him at 4 would mean they didnt think much of the QBs and Id rather they not take one then take someone you dont feel good about. Thats how you wind up drafting QB'S high every couple years.

However, I would be mad about trading up to 2 to take a DB. Id feel much better if they did it for say Joey Bosa, who if he maxes out, makes your whole defense better. Improving every level of the defense is possible for a DB, but its much harder to accomplish then it is for an elite DE. And to me if your trading up for a player you are looking for a player that is going to effect every level of that side of the ball. QB's, LT's, DE's and maybe a WR are non Cowboy specific positions I would consider that kind of trade up. Cowboy specific I would add a 3 Tech because interior pass rush is so crucial to our scheme ( although there is no 3 Tech worth the #4 this year)

Nah, not happening with us, but I could absolutely see the Browns trading down. Someone like the Rams or 49ers might get super excited about Wentz and send the farm for the #2 pick. Cleveland would be silly not to take a bounty of picks over a QB.

Im listening to the draft show and Broaddus is saying that someone with the Browns is telling him that they really like Wentz but they may not take him.

Browns may take Ramsey.

The draft could go:

1. Tunsil

2. Ramsey

3. Buckner

4.

Obviously you would take Wentz in that scenario, lol. But I would like to see us absolutely fleece someone for a ton of picks.

I'm positive Wentz won't be there at 4.

If you want him, you have to go up and get him. The Eagles will if Dallas doesn't.

Fleece someone for their 1st rounder next year plus some picks this year and use that to start the life after Romo process. Best case to me. All it takes is some injury bug to hit a team and we could be picking in the top 10 again.

I'm actually at

1. Trade Down/Fleece
2. Wentz, if he's there
3. Trade Down/Fleece

I'd rather have Karl Joseph or Darian Thompson over Ramsey if it means adding more picks, and with the trade down get someone like Zeke or Shaq Lawson.

And, having two 1st rounders next year would give us a lot of ammunition to move up for a true blue-chip QB if there is one.

I'm fine with the fleece as well.

My preference is:

1. Wentz

2. Ramsey

3. Fleece

We could get a lot of nut and bolt pieces with a trade down.

If I was guessing I would say that's the thinking around valley ranch too
The only thing is can you fleece a team for Goff?
I think if Wentz or Ramsey is there they pick one of them but if not they would like to trade down. But can they get a dance partner?

Someone says this every year. This is a guy with like 1.5 years of FCS experience. He's not Andrew Luck. He could very well go later than the Internet is expecting

Theoretically. But if those two 1s are in the teens or twenties, we're hooped

Yes on both points.
It's fine to draft a QB in the top 4 if you really think that player is a top 4 caliber player. If Wentz (or whoever it is) fits the bill, then I have no problems with them taking him. Just don't force it just because you happen to be picking high in the draft. That's a terrible reason. But if he's really THAT good, then yes, go for it.

Next...I also agree that trading up to 2 to take Ramsey would be pretty frustrating. It'd cost a fortune and it's not necessary.

Trading up for a DB worked out great with Mo so why not
