I want to give this "What if" stuff a try. Seems to be all the rage. If the Cowboys go to Washington and get blown out by the hated Commanders to go 0-2 in the division, what do you think should happen?

Garrett fired? Romo sent to IR? The Death Star burned to the ground? Time to start talking top 5 pick for next years draft? All of the above? What?

I mean, we've seen this movie before. Why not get ahead of it? Since we know how it will all go down if the Cowboys do get blown out by the Commanders.

I was talking to a friend today and he said it might be time to start thinking about trading Zeke while we can still get something for him. Before everyone finds out he is a bust. And since Romo is obviously done.

I mean, WOW!!! What do you guys think?

Any hope out there?

I really wonder what it would take for us to make a coaching change ?
Would 0 and 16 do it ?

They won't blow us out.

Still, I think this is Jason's 'prove it' game. I know it is for me. If he can't pull out a W here, starts the season 0-2, and goes to 1-14 or whatever it is without Romo, I'll be advocating a coaching change.

Especially if he rolls out the same Weeden/Cassel gameplan of dinking and dunking with 90% of Daks throws to the middle of the field to a TE or Beasley. At that point, he'd be the third QB doing it, making it hard to believe that isn't the "plan", especially after Dak was pushing the ball downfield all preseason.

Jason is a fluke fumble on a punt return away from being winless without Tony Romo. The offense, without Tony, is 31st, second to last in the league.

If he wins and institutes a good plan, i'll believe in him. If he finds a way to lose, again, then I'm ready for him to hit the road. Dak looked good in preseason, we have a legitimate #1 WR, a 4th pick at RB, and an outstanding OL. Find the best OC that money can buy this offseason, develop Dak, and get this thing rolling.

Thank you. I dont see alot of anger and fight either.

A long established pattern. They play well for much of the game, but lose, with the turning point often occurring after they fail to finish drives in the first half. Post-game statements by players that "we gotta do better." And so the years have gone by...

If that happens then we will be 0-2 going into week 3

if Dallas can keep it close till late in the game all the pressure will be on them. When you listen to the players up there and read the writers they are acting like the season is over if they lose. So if we could get a lead or keep it close late there will be a ton of pressure on them to win.

Doc walker has a video on the Commanders site where he keeps saying over and over Beat the cowboys or die.

probably the most foolish thing I have ever seen.

Reading those comments you must think the Cowboys stink. lol You make it sound like the Giants are world beaters that we were 17 point dogs to. I'm not even sure at this point if the Giants even have a good team.

I wasn't sure if we could hang with Romo out and 3 of our best defensive players with a Rookie QB starting.

Giants are a 6-10 team until otherwise proven and we're a 4-12 team that struggles winning without Romo until proven otherwise.

Cowboys have a real shot at winning this one. I was impressed how close we played NY. Almost pulled it out.
Absolutely. I was surprised it was so close. I have a good feeling about the Washington matchup. I think the Cowboys can run against them. If only Garrett can see that. If the Cowboys can score first and control the clock with the run they have a real shot at it. It has always been a great matchupand Dallas always plays the Skins tough in Washington.

The Cowboys' Key to Success vs. the Commanders:

If the Cowboys manage to contain both Desean Jackson and Jordan Reed to a tolerable extent, their odds of winning would be good.

Those odds could increase to Dallas' advantage even more if our OL has success in clearing space for Zeke Elliott and Alfred Morris.

Mesean always finds a way to torch us on at least one play :(

After watching Washington play last week, I see no indication that they are capable of blowing out the Cowboys. If it happen, I'd be shocked.

He sure does. I imagine Mo Claiborne will have his hands full with him but help should be forthcoming from a safety deep. Covering both Jackson and Reed should prove a tough challenge in itself but the Commanders lack a formidable rushing attack, so that might help to keep the damage to a minimum. I'm also hoping our pass rush can manage to exert more pressure on Kirk than they did on Eli last week.

I would single Byron Jones on Reed. Won't fix the problem but passing him with Jones allows us not to double and can work corners with other recievers

Garrett will never be fired, that would mean that Jerry would have to admit he was wrong.

Last year he was outstanding going up against him. We have Scandrick back too I'm thinking we will see Alot of Anthony brown deep if Jones is going one on one with reed. Rather have brown back there than Wilcox

If we get blown out by the Commanders then at least I'll be drunk by halftime so that I don't have to remember the second half.
