Name all RB's, that have maintained high production, throughout their careers.

Was Zeke supposed to run for 1600+ a year?

With Ramsey’s attitude, just how long would he have stayed in Dallas? Ramsey definitely hasn’t had the impact on the teams that he has played for that Zeke has had. I will be the first to say that Zeke has declined rather rapidly, but I sure don’t Ramsey would have had the direct effect that Zeke has had on wins or loses.

All that impact Elliott has had was his rookie year. Since then his production has fallen each year. The weakest part of this team since Elliott has been drafted has been the defense so to say Ramsey wouldn't have impacted the wins and losses by adding a good player to the weaker unit is just a guess on your part with nothing to back it up with. Also because Ramsey had a problem with his coach with the jags Doug Marrone does not mean he would have had a problem with the coaches in Dallas.

You gonna put playing with the majority of the starting OL out and 4 different QBs on Zeke?

Do you watch football or are you just pissed because Zeke is getting with your ex?

Glad you are happy with Zeke's half baked efforts, standing with his hands on hips after interceptions, and his continued decline in production.

You just made the argument against Elliott. The running back has a short average career of 2.66 years in the NFL. Now part of that is due to injuries and a big part of it has to do with reduction in production. All to often teams get a back and hope they found a Emmitt Smith type back but find out that their production starts to decrease way to quickly and that is why most teams don't use their 1st round pick on running backs.

Now if Elliott's production was at least staying close to the 1631 like in the 1500 AND the number of runs of 20 or more yards didn't decrease every year and if he didn't push to be paid as highest paid RB in NFL history while having his production decreasing and especially this season with his fumbling he probably would have more support. The Cowboys also had another RB that led all RB in the league in fumbles and the very next year they let him walk, Murray.

Nice soliloquy, but you didn't remotely answer my question.

It funny you can use a rarely used word that by the way I'm not speaking to myself, but can't catch on to a simple concept that explained or answered your question. I'll try again and I'll even try to make it as simple as I can. There are not a great deal of RB that maintain a really high yardage for the season every year, but then the average career length for a RB is 2.66 years. Many RB who's not the highest paid RB in NFL history and who's production continually drop either find themselves going further down the bench or are left to find another team. Because Elliott was signed to the largest contract by a RB in NFL history the Cowboys are forced to have to suffer with his continual reduced production and now this season throwing in his fumbling problem, the Cowboys at some point very well may say they made a mistake with his last contract and decide they no longer wish to keep him. Like everyone else we will have to wait and see if that ever happens, but if it does happen, there are fans here that will applaud the Cowboys for doing it. Now to further answer your question, there's a difference between consistently gaining close to the same amount of yards and having a stead decline year after year like Elliott has done. Now it's not just the total amount of yards but each year the number of rushes of 20 or more yards has also declined every year.

Especially crazy to pay Zeke that much when you are hiring an OC who likes the passing game and isn’t a good match with Zeke’s talents. That’s just this fan’s opinion.

Point here is that you don't pay that position. Some positions you have to pay b/c good players are more rare. But rbs are a dime a dozen in the NFL. If you have a good OL, you can pretty much give the ball to anyone and get 1k yard rusher. DMAC proved the point.....Demarco Murray proved the point. But we aren't the kind of organization that learns from experience. We are run like a fantasy football team. Giving Zeke a new fat contract 2 years early was the dumbest thing Jerry had done in a while.........probably since the Roy Williams trade. It will go down as one of the top 10 bonehead moves Jerry ever made.

How about Jerry’s TopTen Greatest Blunders?

10. “500 guys could coach this team”
9. “Brandon Weeden has the prettiest spiral...”
8. Drafting Kicker David Buechler in the 5th round
7. “Romo is so elusive, he doesn’t need a top offensive line.”
6. “It’s absurd to say there’s evidence that football can cause CTE.”
5. The infamous 2009 “Special Teams Draft”.
4. Trading a first rounder and third rounder for WR Roy Williams in 2008.
3. Trading 2 first round picks for WR Joey Galloway in 2000.
2. Signing Ezekiel Elliott to a huge contract two years before his rookie deal expired.
1. Letting the problems with Jimmy Johnson ruin a dynasty.

Amazingly, there are easily 10 more. Any other football executive would have been fired for 2-3 of these colossal blunders.
