Let's say we had the #10, #15, #20, #25 picks in this draft (man what a dream). What realistic picks would you make? No trading down or up just pick.

10 - Patrick Willis

15 - Reggie Nelson

20 - Robert Meachem

25 - Anthony Spencer

or

10 - Leon Hall

15 - Robert Meachem

20 - Joe Staley

25 - Justin Blalock

In this second one Staley and Blalock are too high but the chance to set your Oline for the next ten years in one day would be very tempting.

I think I could sit here all day and come up with dream 1st rounds.

What a question!

If I had those picks, here would be my first round:

10. Willis or Anderson
15. Lynch or Revis
20. Bowe or Meachem
25. Staley or Spencer

OR.....

I would trade up and snag Landry with two of those picks, and spend the other two on Lynch, Revis, Bowe/Meachem or Staley.

Hell, with that many picks, I probably use 3 of them and talk about getting in the CJ contest.

Walk out of there with CJ and then use the other one someone like Revis, Lynch, Staley or Spencer. CJ would be unreal.

Wow. Somehow you managed to pick 4 guys in the first round that I dislike. I wouldn't draft any of those guys at the position you need to be at to draft them.

But really, I'd trade 2 and whatever else (lower rounds) was needed and get CJ, end of story- WR position fixed for a decade with any luck. For CJ I'd even use 3 of those picks, best scenerio, 2 this year and 1 next year. Then I'd trade the other two and whatever else (lower rounds) was needed and grab Landry- saftey position fixed for years to come barring any injuries.

If you have 4 picks, I don't care how many "decent" players can be had, you parley them into less picks for better players. Gonna lose the money with #1 picks as it is, the best idea is to aim for 2, or even just 1 player, that won't be a loss in money. It's those mediocre players had in the 1st round that kill you a few years down the line when their rookie contracts expire- you either let them go (eradicating their entire point of being a 1 rounder in the first place) or take the cap hit that isn't worthy a mediocre former #1 but what the going rate for these 2nd rates has turned into.

As for Parcells and the Jets; Nothing too impressive had there. I've seen no sign of 4 #1's taking them to a super bowl. Infact those 4 haven't done a damned thing to impress me enough to think I'd be pleased were they our picks. Better players, less picks, that's the way to go in round 1. A playmaker on offense and a playmaker on defense, that's the way I would've gone. They really only got Abraham out of that year. The other 3 would've been something to talk about had they ever won anything significent, but they didn't.

13.shaun ellis

27.anthony becht

thats a pretty good draft especially considering some of the other players taken in that 1st round.... also with their 5th pick they took lavernius coles in the 3rd round

I would take a WR in the 2nd Rd. Unless you can get Johnson, I don't think the difference in the guys you can get in the 1st or 2nd are all that much different.
