Would the Cowboys be undefeated right now... What I question is if BP had thoughts on making the change at the beginning of the season why not make a play for Brees...

No, as long as Pat Watkins is spotting the Eagles 21 points and the defense is letting the Giants march up and down the field at will in the 2nd half, the Cowboys are not undefeated with Brees. 4-2, at best.

If we had signed Drew Brees, we'd still be seeing Romo because I'm not sure if he could have physically withstood the beating that Bledsoe has undertaken.

Drew Brees or anybody else wouldn't do jack squat on this team with the horrendous play calling and complete ineptitude of the offensive line.

Just so you know, Bledsoe is responsible for at least half of his beatings.

EXACTLY... BEDSORE is the one who stands there and watches the guy smack him in the face... HELLO... If you have the ball for longer than 5 seconds then something should click to throw away the ball or just run with it...

Signing Drew Brees was not without its risks. There were still issues with his shoulder from his injury last season. Hinsight shows us he's fine now, but back then that wasn't a no-brainer decision.

I agree with you about his shoulder. But I can nearly say with 100% certainty that even if he was not coming of an injury Dallas was not making a play for him.

We might be 4-2. This team has plenty of other problems.

The thing is we never even brought the guy in.... Did we ask any questions about his health... And even if injured at some point he would have came back... I'm just ticked off that we haven't drafted a QB with a #1 pick since Troy...

You're probably right. There are a lot of things that go into signing FA QBs: money, timing, etc. It just seemed like nothing was right at that time. We didn't know what we know now.

You guys laugh but Brad Johnson is the one guy I look at and wonder why we never considered signing. You look at what BP wants out of the QB and how can you not like Johnson? He's not flashy, he doesn't turn the ball over, he makes good decisions and he's affordable and he's about 100 years old. He's exactly what BP wants out of his QBs.

Adam, is that sarcasm, or are you a Romo fan?

I'm a Cowboys fan. If he's our starting quarterback, then I'll be a Romo fan. But I know that the odds of a first-time starter being able to lead a team into the playoffs isn't very good. So it was slight sarcasm at the people who think now that Romo is in, we're going to finish 11-5 or so. I hope we do, but it's a long shot at best.
