For example the most famous one lately is instead claiborne we had brockers and Wagner or cox and Cordy Glenn etc. but that's a played out discussion and also no point in kicking mo around anymore.

Of course that's purely hypothetical and ignoring any and all salary cap issues, but it's definitely something to think about.

You need to look at that concept from both sides:

What if Dallas had traded down in 2011 and drafted both Danny Watkins and Gabe Carimi instead of Tyron Smith? Watkins is now a firefighter and Carimi has been cut 2 or 3 times.

What if Dallas had drafted Tony Mandarich instead of Troy Aikman?

What if Dallas had drafted Blair Thomas instead of Emmitt Smith?
