What is Dallas doing with all these 6-3 WRs

I think you are on to something. Would be great to see use this approach when warranted. Especially when the pass , even if intercepted would be equivalent to a good punt re field position.

Other than watching the players develop, what differences Linehan brings to the table is what I am most interested in seeing this season.

He has been involved with the Randy Moss Vikings, Kurt Warner Rams, and the Calvin Johnson Lions. He runs the Coryell offense but so does half the league. I really am not sure what to expect.

If romo can sometimes just trust his WR to make the play, we would see so many great plays.

We'd also see more INTs and people would go nuts. I'm still reminded of numerous Cowboys WRs who have run wrong routes and ended up in Romo's passes being intercepted.

What's it going to be then, eh?

It is just the prototype of what Dallas does. Perimeter WRs need to be bigger and taller due to the types of route trees that are run. Speed is even secondary to length and body control.

A player like Street was necessary as there really is not anyone to play the outside role on the roster.

They like big tall targets that can beat press coverage outside to start. it's been that way since Irvin and Harper but they did start Kevin Williams in 1995 and won a Super Bowl.

I agree we like big tall fast receivers but I think Williams and Dez are big and fast enough to play the Z and X. I do like the acquisition of Street as I think he adds more precision to the equation. I think he may be as fast as the others but I have to see him run more than highlite films. I assume you were talking about the smurfs we have in Harris and Beasley who aren't outside receivers.

The preseason might be fun to watch given that we have real NFL backup QBs who aren't afraid to throw more than 5 yards down the field. Catching will be 4 or 5 6-3 WRs. So why so many?

My opinion we're trying to turn Washington or the Miami kid into a 6th rounder at the end of camp like we did last year with San Diego. These receivers will be difficult to match up with for sure.

Uh, trying to win?

You got that right. Heave and pray. And then lead the NFL in INT's. Yea, we need Romo to get on board with that.

If he had Dez, half those Int's would not have happened. He has no jump ball WR. Nobody got open, so instead of holding onto the ball...he threw it up, hoping his WR would make a play. The same way he did in the Super Bowl, to Win a super bowl....sometimes it's all about faith.

Line up the big guys on the outside, with Beasley/Harris in the slot. I like it.

how many superbowls do u think eli would have led the cowboys to if he were the qb? honest question

Imagine if Romo would have put up Eli's #'s last year. People are already trying to run him out of town. The sh*tstorm would be earth shattering.

Who are his jumpball WR's who can make those plays? That's why they are ints

Some how I doubt that all 27 INTs were jump ball INTs. In fact I'd be willing to bet that more than half of them had zero to do with jump ball situations.

Eli needs credit for his part in winning superbowls, he's their QB after all, but just like with every other team out there who ever wins the Superbowl you don't do it because of any 1 player. No team ever has and no team ever will.

We have a couple of small receivers in Beasley and Harris, and big targets are always coveted, so it makes sense to me that we would look at some good sized receivers.

what about the super bow......meh, never mind

When you win a Super Bowl throwing 18 TD's and 27 Int's get back to me. But Eli surely didn't win the Super Bowl "lobbing it up" to receivers. Granted, he did to Tyree out of desperation but that wasn't why he made it to the Super Bowl. He surely didn't lob it up when they beat us in the 1st round 17 to 21......

They're INT's because no one just "lobs it up" for players to get it. That's some misconception to derives from watching ESPN Highlgiths and seeing Calvin Johnson on Sundays........but there is no good coming from lobbing up footballs so guys can catch jumpballs all game. Its just not realistic.

well..people were on here last year complaining romo wasnt throwing enough ints, so they may have liked it.
