What is that sound?

That was the sound of pieholes shutting. Dallas just played the SB champs, in their house, lost the turnover battle, had little passrush… and still made the plays they needed to win. It doesn’t mean we will go to the Super Bowl, but it’s a turning point that shows this team is legit.

They won’t do it, but pieholes should be shutting for the following reasons:

This is not the worst team of the last 20 years.

This is not the worst defense in the NFL.

Romo is not finished.

Our secondary does not suck.

Joseph Randle does not suck.

Escobar does not suck.

Mincey does not suck.

Hitchens does not suck.

We do not have half a team that isn’t NFL quality.

I’m old enough that I remember the 1985 blowout where the Bears destroyed the Cowboys. It was a turning point that showed a dark age was coming for several seasons. This game feels like the opposite, a turning point that shows this is a young team that still needs more weapons but is a team on the rise – and will be a solid team for several years going forward.

Selvie got a sack in the game. But yes Dallas did get some good pressure at times and did not allow Wilson to get outside on big runs.

I am so impressed with this defense. I predict Murray will be the first back to rush for 100 yards in the first 7 games of a season next week. Special teams were awful, but we overcame. When McClain got that interception I hopped out of my chair and went insane. My neighbors were probably worried about me, lol. I haven't felt this in a long time. Let's keep it going.

Makes me wonder how Emmitt never achieved that feat, even behind that OL.

That pop from Randle got the running game going IMO. We need more from him as well.

I've been labeled as a "realist". They shut me up. They didn't play a perfect game, and still won in probably the worst stadium for road teams to play in. That defense showed up big time. Big props to guys like Jeremy Mincey, who I have been dogging since he was signed.

Totally agree, Spencer looked much better this game and almost looks like you could see him at this previous level this year. If Lawrence and Spencer (at 100%) start at DE, with Selvie and Mincey rotating in, its an entirely different defense.

No we didn't sack him but 2 of his throw aways should have been INT's.
