Funny how seldom this play is brought up. For me its the single best and most significant defensive play of that era.

The onside kickoff return on the opening kickoff against the Eagles. Only because I was at the stadium and there was a guy with a McNabb jersey sitting next to me.

Randall Williams sure made me jump up and cheer on that play!

There are so many but I must say I keep coming back to "The Slant" to Alvin Harper against the 49ers to clinch the NFC Championship.Romos games winner down the seam this past year is in there as well.:star:

When you've followed the boys for as long as I have (37+yrs that I can remember) it's very tough to give just one. The slant to Harper is definitely a top 5 for me. Not just because it sealed that win, but it also eased some of the pain from the catch.

I still hate to see that replay to this day.

Yeah let me also remind you, in a losing situation. Thanks to Chad aka I want to be a pocket Quarterback like Ryan Leaf Hutchinson we couldn't pull it off. Only if Quincy was starting then, the way that season was going with Quincy Cowboys would have been 8-8 at worst and 10-6 at best.

Emmitt's first long TD run against the 'Skins on MNF back in '92. It was the first of his many great MNF long TD runs. Even Darrell Green had no chance that night, and "the triplets" were on their way!!!

For me it's not even close:

Playoff game...losing...game closing...last chance...win or lose...move on or stay home...you're supposed to lose now...the game is essentially over...you're getting your thoughts together to accept the loss and the end of the season and your super bowl dreams...when Suddenly:

HAIL MARY !!!

Tony Dorsett's 99 1/2 yard TD run.

I agree. I remember watching the game. I think it was Dandy Don that was saying before the play that Dallas can't just score any time they wan't. After the play, he said, "well maybe they can." It would have been that much better if we had won the game.

Probably the slant #1 and 2nd would be the Aikman to Ismail in Overtime vs the Skins because I called it before it happened.

I can't say I remember the Staubach to Pearson play live, although I have seen it many times.

off the top of my head I cant name one. I will have to think about it and come up with a list.

That Bill Bates interception to seal the 91 wild card win was really special to me. Until that moment it was like holding my breath that we were actually a good team and we could win in the playoffs. the minute summerall said intercepted by bates it was time to exhale. In the cold and the snow and against that bears defense that still had some tidbits of mythology behind them, with summerall and madden at their peak. It was just special to me.

Those are probably my top three too.

I would also add Robert Newhouse's halfback TD pass to Golden Richards in the Super Bowl and Bob Lilly's sack of Bob Griese in the first Super Bowl win.

An honorable mention would be Troy Aikman's overtime bomb to Rocket Ismail to beat the Commanders. That was breathtaking and the most emotion I ever saw Aikman show in a regular season game.

Yeah, I gotta go with this one too. James Washington's return was a thing of beauty.

Just too many. However, I really liked Emmitt's 60-something yard run against the Giants to open the 1995 season. It said we were back (after letting San Fran win the '94 super bowl) and that Ray Donaldson was going to be just fine replacing Stepnoski.
