You folks can trash the defense, the conservative playcalling, whatever you want, but if Cortez makes that gimme FG, Cowboys win the ball game. Changes everything about how we ran that offense in the 4th. You have to make those kicks. AND he blew the kickoff and gave 'em great field position too. I'm sick of it. Cortez doesn't belong on an NFL team.

It's too late now......they should have auditioned them during the off season. Every off season there are good kickers out there. Why do we have to look for a new kicker every 2-3 years. Most teams have their kickers for years.

I think theres also correlation between our sudden kicking woes, and our release of the most knowledgable coach of his own position, Steve Hoffman. He constantly turned unknowns to consistent kickers. Please bring Cundiff back, please. I wouldn't mind of one the Gramatica brothers or Cunningham though.

Thats a difficult question. Burnett seems to have a lot of potential, but we need a clutch kicker. I really don't know. Yesterday I would have said never, but now, id give it serious thought. Serious.

Heck, get me an Arena League Kicker. They are used to kicking through narrow pipes and routinely make 45+ yard kicks. It's got to be better than Cortez. Plus, by the way, did you see the look on his face when he looked at Romo after the missed FG as iff to say, 'What the heck are you doing, you are making me look bad!"?

Here is a kicker I wish we would give consideration, Carlos Martinez, he is the Desperados kicker. Has a great leg hit a 55 yarder in doors between those small posts. And is accurate as far as I can tell in the Arena Leagure.

I just liked what I saw and he can't be any worse than Cortez.

And heck were is Eddie Maurey(sp), I bet he still has a good enough leg to hit 30 yarders. :laugh2: just kidding of course.

But I will be majorly pissed if this week we don't even try anybody out.

On the bright side, we went into Seattle in the rain and held their offense to 3 points most of the game. We had another end of game/half meltdown, but we were without some important players and we have some rookies who will improve this year and before next. The present ain't too bad and the future looks bright.

We need OL depth.
We need safety depth.
We need a kicker who is reliable 40 yards in and gets touchbacks.
We need another linebacker.
Deep snappping and holding aren't automatic.

Compare that list to the halfway point last year.
