100% correct. Those are the stats of the Pittsburgh Steelers. The only difference is we have blocked 2 kicks.

They're as dead as a doornail.

But, they have Big Ben though.lol

I mean if and right now it is a big if but if he does get this turned around then he deserves a lot of credit and yes his job.

IF this team does ANYTHING it will be IN SPITE of Wade. He can ride off into the sunset. There is no scenario where I want him back. Even if we win SB.

Sorry but having it both ways that is beyond you. If the team fails that is Wade and if they succeed Wade had nothing to do with it?

That has been the case before(Switzer is one of many examples).

Sorry that is indeed the case here.

This team plays poorly, penalties etc in Wade's 3rd year. It will take an aligning of all the stars and the moon etc for us to win anything.

If Coughlin was our head coach we would be undefeated. We have a better team than the Giants.

I think Wade sucks and is doing a terrible job. We have one of the most talented teams in the league and it seems that we are always underachieving.

Switzer took over a SB champion team I don't think this is any where close to that.

Would Coughlin do a better job here that is an unknown since he is not here we could speculate all day may he would maybe he wouldn't BP did not exactly cut down the mental mistakes and penalties. If this team sinks that should be on Wade Phillips and by the same token should this team turn it around and start playing quality football then Wade and his staff deserve credit. It would be hard to think our fans could be that big of punks to deny any coach credit

Obviously. Agreed on what Switzer inherited.

Wade inherited a world of talent. Not the same but close enough.

ABSOLUTELY, Coughlin would do better. I believe that.

Damn... punks? :lmao2:
Easy Killer.

I will reiterate. IF we do ANYTHING it will be IN SPITE of Wade.
His time in Dallas is a joke. Maybe you dont see it now. Maybe you need to reflect back in a few years. He was hired as a "Mr Fix it" defense and Puppet Coach. Whether you can prove that or not. Thats what it is.

When we consider the type of organization in which Wade Phillips is forced to operate, assessing his performance is very difficult.

I do know that. Our fans holler if a guy simply gets beat. Imagine the gall, letting a professional athlete beat you on a given play.

"It happens..!!!"

This team who has not sniffed a SB or won a play off game in years even with BP at the helm should not give credit to Wade and the staff should they make the impossiable, possiable? As far as puppet that is your bias opinion nothing more than that. Yes I would call any one a punk who would deny giving credit where it was due. I never care for TO and was strongly aginst him being here but I would even give credit to him for his play right is right know matter how people spin things and should this staff get this team turned around then you bet they deserve a lot of credit

The thing is this:

On the defensive side of the ball, this team is making systematic improvements, which lends itself to some coaching impacts and gel-ing.

Let's see. To evaluate the head coach, we first need to look at the team's performance and talent.

Performance: We're 3-2. The two losses:

1. We lost to a team that has an argument for being the best in football, on the last play of the game.

2. We lost on the road, in Denver, after a short week, against a team that's now 5-0 after beating the Patriots. And we had a very good chance to tie on the last two plays of the game.

Now, to be fair, the win at KC last week was beyond ugly.

The defense (Wade's purview) was poor the first two games, but has stiffened considerably since, particularly notable against Denver.

Talent: There's a lot of talent on the team, but there are also some pretty glaring areas of weakness that are being exploited. We're terrible at safety. We have few effective pass rushers. We have a very weak WR corps. Our return teams are still awful (though our coverage and kick teams have improved). Our pass blocking is not strong.

Most folks had us pegged as an 8-10 win team this season. I don't see that anything's happened in the first five weeks to change that projection, with one exception: the schedule looks stronger, with the way Denver, Seattle and NO are playing.

So I'll say Wade's doing an average job.

Poor, he couldn't lead a group of cub scouts across the street.

:laugh2: at your name calling.

Wade gets NO CREDIT. He is a joke as HC. Period.

So no matter what this team does?

Good to see a closed mind fan, who is more interested in an agenda that the betterment of the team. I have no issue firing Phillips or any HC if they fail to do the job but for anyone to sit there and say that even if they do the job they need to go only proves that maybe the only joke is that fan.

I'd grade Wade with a "C" - he's right around mediocre thus far, IMO.

What annoys me most is that we still appear to be shooting ourselves in the foot with penalties, turnovers, etc. Like we've done for several years.

I don't blame it all on Wade, either. But since he's the HC, he gets a fair share of the blame.

But the good news is that we have the talent to turn this around, and the players are still fighting, which is very good.

The next few weeks really are critical for this team. Given how well several of the other teams are playing in the NFC, to make the playoffs we will have to get a winning streak going pretty soon.

Atlanta is a good test for us.

I think Wade is doing alright. Do I think he's the right person for head coaching? No. But I do think he's doing alright.

"Close minded", why? Because I believe that if we do anything it will in spite of Wade?

I will conclude (my responses in this thread) without countering the name calling.

Why would they do something positive despite the HC? If every thing they are currently doing is because of the failure of the coach both Wade and Parcells then how is it they will all of a sudden do it alone? The players are not putting together the game plan they are just failing to execute them the coach takes the blame when the players do not execute why would the coach not get credit for when they do?
