I think the defenses of both teams will greatly limited the opposing teams running game.

I think Dallas has a slight edge with their passing game and pass defense.

Dallas wins 17-14.

I agree with MW...I think we have better skill people and a better secondary

I just hope we dont lose 16-14 because we cant make a 30yd FG

I think we lose the game 17-13. Our entire fanbase will go insane and the media will claim TO orchestrated the entire affair, but vandy is perfect on the day(go figure). Afterwards we proceed to have a fantastic season anyway. I've thought all along that this is will be one of the toughest games we'll play all year. I think our Oline struggles with their big interior 2some all day long.

unfortunately, this is exactly what is going to happen. i for one will believe that vanderjagt can just "push a button" and turn it on when i see it. i am not a believer...

unfortunately niether am I...hope he proves us wrong, but I can see the kicking game costing us again

to me its the same 3 concerns its been for years...no pass rush, poor OL and poor kicking...I really hope they are all better or at least average, otherwise we are in for a disappointing season

Well...I just don't put any faith in all of those who say we win or lose because of this or that reason.

So I just ask the magic eight ball.

Magic Eight Ball, will the Cowboys win vs the Jags...

magic-eight-ball.png

I was also curious about the eagles...so I ask the magic eight ball again.

Magic Eight Ball, I need to tell our Eagles fans if the eagles will win or lose...what should I tell him?

Most people agree that Jags record last year was inflated by an easy schedule. Plus their receiving corps is thinner than it was last year with the retirement of Smith. We think our defense is good enough to stop what could be a very one dimensional game,

I think outside observers would say this game should be fairly close and since we're Cowboys fans, of course we're going to pick them to win.

This is going to be a tough road game. I expect Dallas to go in as an underdog in the game and this team will need to go out and play pretty much error free games

SInce the Jaguars were 12-4; an AFC Wild Card Berth in 2005, they are going to be a tough opener.

Despite your opponent fandom affiliation, I'm going with the Jaguars to lose. Only because of my NFC-East fandom affiliation.

Expect a hard fought game because the Jaguars will want to stunt and sack to stop your play-maker wide receiver. I see Bill dropping some serious screens and timing plays to TE across the middle hoping for some YACs. This will most definitely be a test to determine the strength of your OL. If Dallas' DL continue to do their part, this may be a close game. Look for the battle at the Line of scrimmage!

Not sure about the other two, but I really think we'll see a pass rush this year, David.

The Jags beat Seattle in last years opener, they definitely could come out fired up and beat us. I don't see it happening. I think they're a soft team, particularly on offense, and our defense will beat Leftwich up. Their 12-4 record last year is bolstered by only two quality wins, against Cincy, and Seattle. Early. As long as we come out looking decently sharp, we'll take it.

the problem I see for JAX is Dallas' D isn't exactly the best way to start your season off trying to find your offense and build that chemistry with all their new starting receivers

the problem I see for DAL is JAX's defensive line; who is gonna keep Stroud and Henderson out the backfield?

JAX has one of the better Ds in the league, one of the few Ds capable of stopping Indy

should be a very hard fought battle, good thing it's on TV locally here

Don't let these guys catch you underestimating them. I think this may be a dog fight there in Florida. IMO early scores may be critical as both defenses will realize that this game is going to count!

This will not be an easy walk in the park.

One slight advantage favoring Dallas is the fact that Jacksonville has little to go off of, other than pre-season, in film study for the 2-TE set.

Everyone knows that very little is ever shown in preseason, and I would expect some confusion from the Jags defense as a result of being unable to prepare for certain looks that will be shown from the 2TE set.

Taking advantage of mismatches when they occur, will be the difference on sunday.

Totally. If I underestimate the Jaguars, TO might drop a few of the 18 TDs he's going to catch this weekend, as he beats Mathis like a rented mule. Thanks for the reminder.

.

They play the Colts twice every yr, and the Colts have been using a 2 TE scheme for years

also, while alot is being made of the "2 TE scheme" we're running, so far it seems the 2nd TE has been lining up mostly as a FB anyway, especially on run plays....on pass downs the 2nd TE (if he's on the field) will probably be used as an extra pass blocker unless our OL steps up and shows they can protect alone...
