Surprise, surprise...

http://forums.49ers.com/messageboard/showthread.php?t=35066

personally, i don't

at First.....but I'm over it. Wish he still played for us.

I don't.

I admit that him standing with his arms folded on the Dallas star was kind of embarassing, but TO didn't act up very much when he was with the 49ers. At least not while Steve Young was around. I'm sure he felt that he took things for granted while he was in SF, especially when McNabb was throwing him the ball instead of Young. McNabb is a mere shadow of the QB that Young was.

I wish he was still on the team. I bet Alex would have a lot more TD's by now.

I never wanted t.o. gone in the first place!!!!

Nope no grudge...and I think he's matured lately. He's been pretty good in Dallas so far...not a cancer at all.

I never wanted him to leave...

You know it's kind of funny, but he's never been to candlestick park since leaving the niners. Our games against the eagles were at their park and the one time eagles finally come here, he's on dallas. I'd be really interested to his/our reaction to his return. Garcia's coming back, he'll probably get alot of cheers... maybe even some garcia chants, depending on how alex is playing up to that point.

No love lost for San Fran, I live in California and they are snotty to me because I'm a Texan (as in born in Texas and not a fan of the Houston franchise) and a Cowboy fan. Classless fans are all I've met up to this point.

I was always upset when Ken Norton joined the dark side and hated Deion for pass interference that he got away with in 1995 but forgave him when he came to Dallas.

Shuts fools like Skippy up. I can see TO being here for another 2-3 years. Heck, he's almost 2 years younger than Marvin Harrison and he's in pretty good condition. He could play another 4-5 years if he wanted.

Jerry should have resigned Ken and let Tolbert and his bad knees walk.

No because who was going to replace Tolbert who didn't have knee problems until 96, the year he made the pro bowl.

Shante Carver and Hurvin McCormack would've been Dallas' starters in the playoffs of the 1995 season because Haley was out with back spasms, we probably would not have beaten Green Bay in the NFC Championship with those two at end.

You're in Northern CA? I'm here too, and I never get hassled by Niner fans. They're ignorant, sure, and their wine and seafood while tailgating nauseates me, but I haven't encountered classlessness unless I'm going to Oakland.

I'm in Southern California, Los Angeles and Hollywood and my experience with fans here has been that they are quite tacky and rude.

You have a good memory. And although I'm not disagreeing with you, I would add this: Leon Lett played multiple positions along the defensive line during his tenure in Dallas. In fact, he actually notched a few starts at defense end when Haley was injured. Therefore, regarding your above hypothetical, I tend to believe Lett, not McCormack, would've supplanted Tolbert in the lineup. Chad Hennings then would've taken Lett's vacated spot at DT.

Also, during the 1995 Championship game, Dallas unveiled a three man front in long yardage situations - an alignment that the Cowboys seldom, if ever, utilized. A three man line with Lett, Carver, and Hennings/McCormack rushing would've partially offset the loss of Tolbert.
