1. OG Marco Rivera (those cheesehead knew what we didn't, his blocking resembled swiss cheese....full of holes)
2. OT Flozell Adams (the Hotel has become nothing more than a roach Motel)
3. OT Jason Fabini (old, bad wheels, good-bye)
4. RB Tyson Thompson (what good is speed if you can't juke a snail)
5. S Keith Davis (he isn't the only guy we have that can play special teams, and he is useless at S)
6. LB Al Singleton (he has been solid, but is older....I want to go for youth)
7. FB Lousaka Polite (he has had his chances and he has proven he is basically a useless FB)
8. QB Drew Bledsoe (I liked Drew Bledsoe and if this is his last year, it was a joy watching him play....he was one tough SOB taking all this hits and still not missing any games cause of injury)
9. CB Jacques Reeves (he has proven to be nothing more than an inadequate backup after like 4 years in the league....good riddance)
10. CB Nathan Jones (he is right there with Reeves....see ya)

big buy?

yeah he is so useful that they took LB Oliver Hoyte and turned him into our starting FB....and then deactivated Polite for many games....

Why keep Polite when we can draft Brian Leonard of Rutgers....an intelligent player who can BLOCK, CATCH, and RUN.....

James needs to be on that list.

Bradie James is a good LB...he just doesn't need to be the QB of the defense....let James just shut up and play.....let someone else be the QB....

used to be Woodson, then Dat, and now we have James...well James isn't ready to be the QB....

I like Leonard too, but why draft a FB on the 1st day for an offense that will be using 2 TE's (2nd & 3rd rounders)?

Especially when BP has said that the classic fullback is a very rare thing in the NFL these days...and Leonard will be a first day pick. At best he'll be an H-back and for a team like the Cowboys with so many needs on the offensive side of the ball, do you need to be investing that on a 1st day player who may only get 100 touches in 2007?

This team, regardless of who the coach is, can not afford that kind of luxury!

I keep Flozell, he's still solid for the most part, and quality starting LT's aren't easy to find.

what is the point of this thread. This place has lost all concept of reality.

We have a playoff game saturday. That is what we have all been waiting for since august. This is the most important time of the year.

yet the only threads that get responses here are
Who is the new head coach going to be
Why its not owens fault.
What players we should get rid of.
Who should we draft..

Lets all just get a grip and get ready for the biggest game of the year.

1. I agree Rivera has been, well maybe not a bust, but much less than we paid for.

2. I may agree here, but i think he stays because he ahs just one more year and he did have to recover from an ACL. UNLESS McQ just turns it one in camp, than maybe we can deal Flo? I hope we draft at least 1 more OT and maybe even 2.

3. Fabini signed a large deal and we need to eat whatever SB we owe him and go in another direction, ie a cheaper younger backup.

4. Sorry, i don't agree. TT, if healthy, provides a KR guy that was leading the NFL and a nice change of pace guy. Very usefull for the money

5. Bill has a hardon for KD. I guess Payton did as well. I can except a couple ST only guys on the team and he's one. It wouldn't hurt my feelings if he goes, but i bet he stays and that's OK with me as well. Just don't play him much other than STs.

6.Alshermond gives you an honest days work and i respect him a ton, but he neees to be replaced, hopefully by some young kid that is better.

7.I don't give a rip about FBs anymore. I'd rather have Hoyte.

8. Bled Slow is history.

9.Reeves, another guy i could care less about.

10. Jones, ditto.

I'd probably add TO to the list. I like his production, but i'm not sure he fits here and i'm tired of the drama, even if it's mostly media created.

Relax.

Everyone is just getting in offseason mode a little early, because they know we have little chance Saturday.

I agree with most of those, Fabinni might serve a good back-up role and Thompson deserves a chance. We would have to pick a CB high or go after one on free agency to replace Reeves.

Throw in, and I hate to say it, Terrell Owens. I'm not sure he is worth the trouble anymore. Though I love him as a player, as a person I'm not so sure.... and Mike Zimmer has to go. Bring in a firey and agressive Defensive Coordinator and a solid Veteran WR.

I'll say this, I think BP is wrong. We need another Moose FB. Don't take my word on this, just ask Emmitt ! The 2 TE set is not a good running set !

I feel ya buddy, but it's just talk. I think there isn't much to say about Saturdays game. We have to see something we haven't for a month. Time for talk is done. I want to see some action and untill then i need something to talk about. But hey, i'm a draftnik, so i'm always looking forward, even when maybe it's not warrented.

Whatever man. You are getting rid of players the week of a playoff game. Kind of strange dont you think.

I am curious if you would have done this in 91. The defensive line couldnt get to the qb that year either and aikman was still an unkown because beurlein took us to the playoffs.

Would you have cut guys like jim jeffcoat and larry brown? benched aikman.

Keep things in perspective. We have a playoff game this week.

The seahawks have lost in the first round 2 of the last three years. One of them at home to the rams.

Keep the faith.

dont tell me to keep the faith...i have tons of faith.

BTW, notice who I am getting rid of...

Singleton is gonna be a FA anyway
Bledsoe will probably retire
Thompson is a 3rd string RB...we can draft or sign an UDFA RB
Rivera blows...he cant block the sun with his fat behind, much less anyone on the opposing team
Fabini is a wasted pickup....he should retire
Reeves has shown nothing and made zero progress since we drafted him
Jones is a little better than Reeves, but still we could easily fill his spot
Polite has had his chances and he hasn't shown the versatility or lead blocking we need from a FB

the only two arguments I can see are Adams and Davis.....Davis blows as a safety but gives us a stud on ST coverage....Adams is a good LT, not great. He gets beat a lot and gets several penalties....I would rather sign Tony Pashos and let Flozell go.

I was always a fan of jeffcoat so no, I wouldnt want him to go....but also, in 91 I was in 11th grade and there wasnt the world wide web out there...I wasn't able to analyze players and the game the way I can now. I didn't have all this info at my fingertips on a whim.

I just want to get rid of wasted space, clean out the cupboards and get some fresh groceries......

my list of players that need to be cut is pretty short actually:

Marco R- time to bring in fresh blood
Bledsoe-I wouldn't mind him staying as a back up though
TO- To much drama and I want to see what the young kids can do.. I think we have a couple of really good prospects in Hurd and Austin.
If we draft a CB, I would send N.Jones and J.Reeves packing.. think about moving to Henry to FS along with Watkins, let Elam back up Roy W.
Al singleton- to much money for a back up
Polite-Hoyte has really impressed me with how physical he is.

Thats about it.
