Greg Ellis- Love the guy but hes older but yes still productive. I want to see spencer start i think hes got great potential.

Terry Glenn- Old, injuries enough said

Anthony Henry- Love him also but is injury prone and is slowly starting to show his age on the football field. With Roy williams as our safety we need fast corners. I would like to see us get 2 corners in the first round or at least the first 3 rounds.

Roy williams- Big cap hit but he doesnt produce and watkins is a solid ss who can cover better than roy which is what we need.

i wished we cut brad johnson........ he's a waste of space... we should've kept matt moore instead... i wished we didn't pay hamlin that much.... better yet roy williams... i wished we could cut terry glenn already and make space for a set of young wr's.. and i wished we cut those garbage cb's that doesn't really contribute to the team much

Right now?

I can't look at the roster and honestly say there's anyone i want "cut".

The ONLY player i'd really like gone is Akin Ayodele but only in a trade.

After that, i wouldn't cry if Roy, Carp or Spears are gone by the end of the year.

Roy Williams
Larry Fitzgerald
Champ Baily
Marcus Trufant
Adrian Peterson

Just joking ummm?

Marcus Spears - Waste of time
Bobby Carpenter - Waste of money
Miles Austin - Waste of roster spot
Sam Hurd - See above
Patrick Crayton - Waste of hands
Terry Glenn - To old

Thats a good start...

Is there any way to package Carpenter, Spears, Ayodele, Crayton and Henry in a trade with Atlanta for their first and DeAngelo Hall? lol
We could then trade one of our firsts to Detroit for Roy and Jerry could have his but buddy and we would still have one pick another WR maybe James Hardy. We could also trade a 6th for Pacman since he wants to come here so badly.
Cornerbacks: Newman, Hall and Pacman
Widerecievers: Owens, Williams, Hardy
Ouch! Eat that Eagles, with your over rated Samuel...
Ahhhh if only dreams came true.

I doubt there is anyone worth cutting right now.

Henry is a valuable piece still. Even with a 1st round CB, Henry still is the nickel. Even with TWO 1st round CBs, you don't leave yourself open with all that youth. Give them time to work in to the system.

Roy, who do you replace him with?

Ayodele? Yea, he's not flashy, but he is solid. He is great depth if a backup to Thomas/Carp. You can't put a price on having starter quality as your backups.

Wow .. will everyone stop with the roy *****ing? Please dear God make it end. He is vastly over paid yes, but while he is making 90+ tackles in the season beating out the likes of Bradie James and Demarcus Ware in both solo and assisted we aren't going to find anyone to fill that gap too easily.

ALSO with the other holes we have slowly opening wider, why create another gap? I don't see the point in beating the dead equine every chance we get as well.

To summerize:

Roy = Overpaid, but stable. Not amazing, but not easily replaced.

So ...

I would say I'd like to give Ayodele a lesser role, and reducing T.Glenn's as well if he returns. Which means we will be trying out the young guys, as well as stirring up the bottom of our roster at RB, CB and WR. (T.T. being let go was a huge start)

I don't need to see anyone from this team released. I question whether Terry Glenn can make it back or if he should hang them up. I would definitely like to see us upgrade there given his injury last year.

Everyone else has earned the right to compete for their job next year. I am least crazy about Brad Johnson as our sole backup option at QB, but I won't call for his head.

Why would you cut Gregg Ellis? I hope Spencer wins the starting job, but that doesn't mean Ellis has to leave. Even as a back up, Ellis could be valuable. Spencer was valuable as a back up last year.

I agree and he could fill in a DE in a pinch.

Akin is solid. Not sure why people want him gone. He is a solid run defender and decent in coverage. Hardly worth being cut or traded. And if he was traded... what would we get? A 5th if we are lucky and more realistically a 6th.

A solid 3-4 ILB is worth it unless he becomes a headache in the locker room with his PT being cut because Zach is now here. Depth there would be nice.

I agree and it's not like he's making some huge salary. I think cutting him saves some where around 800K.

Ellis & his 12 sacks won't get cut this year. I do expect a bigger & stronger Spencer to really push him & get a lot more playing time. Albert Breer's analysis of Giants' loss said Spencer played the run much better then Ellis (and even Ware). Also Ellis contract is cheap for as good as he is. Phillips will find a way to keep Ellis/Spencer/Ware on the field at the same time a lot more.

I'd be surprised if we got rid of Ayodele. He's the weakest link of our starting linebackers but would be a good backup--although an expensive backup. If we draft another ILB, Ayodele could be in trouble after this season.

I'm a bit confused about this thread.

Are we to assume that we will have adequate or better replacements for the players we want cut via free agency or the draft?
