He is vastly over paid yes, but while he is making 90+ tackles in the season beating out the likes of Bradie James and Demarcus Ware in both solo and assisted we aren't going to find anyone to fill that gap too easily.

ALSO with the other holes we have slowly opening wider, why create another gap? I don't see the point in beating the dead equine every chance we get as well.
To summerize:
Roy = Overpaid, but stable. Not amazing, but not easily replaced.
So ...
I would say I'd like to give Ayodele a lesser role, and reducing T.Glenn's as well if he returns. Which means we will be trying out the young guys, as well as stirring up the bottom of our roster at RB, CB and WR. (T.T. being let go was a huge start)

Roy is so poor in coverage that opponents game plan for it, and lately he's picked up the nasty habit of taking poor angles and misses key tackles, plus he has such a great attitude in terms of taking personal responsibility for his cruddy play - but he's "not easily replaced" ?
I guess the rest of us and Dave Campo are missing what you guys are seeing.
OK, I will take your word that coaches sit down and game-plan on how to take advantage of RW, but please go ahead and name me the shut-down SS in the NFL. This is a team game in case you have missed this fact when you were too busy sticking needles in RW voodoo doll. Teams with good or great pass rushing tend to have a better secondary than those with an average or bad D line that can't put pressure on QBs. Surprise surprise!!MaineBoy;1988983 said:man...the Roy defenders continue to amaze me:

Holy oversimplistic analysis, batman.joseephuss;1989002 said:Roy was the reason Dallas lost 4 games last season. Each team(Pats, Eagles, Commanders, Giants) game planned strictly to take advantage of Roy and it worked every time. If anyone, including Keith Davis played in those games instead of Roy, Dallas would have won them.
