Whoever the new head coach would like.

Dont get a new QB in here under clownshoes. He has developed NO ONE in his career.

No one.
Why are replacing Romo now?

This league doesn't provide the cap space to have an early 1st round QB sit and watch for a few years.
Don't you think we have other more pressing needs that the money and draft pick could be used to fill?

Derek Carr but he looks like he's going to go 2nd round with the year he's having.

Jimmy Garoppolo as a 5th round pick maybe. The rest will be gone in the first 3 rounds and we don't need to spend any of our first 3 picks on a QB imo. Wait until next year to draft Brett Hundley if that's the case.

I don't get why you like Hundley so much.

I've been really underwhelmed in the couple of games I've seen. He looks really immature and pretty poor under pressure.

Brett Hundley, but I bet you a dollar Jerry has man crush on JFB and will seriously consider doing whatever it takes to get him. All Jerry see are $$$$$ signs when he thinks about JFB.

Like it or not Romo isn't being replaced for a long time. Just wait til the off-season when Jerry does his usual restucture that all but guarantees Romo is in Dallas for another 3 years.

With that being said I wouldn't mind taking a look at a guy like Logan Thomas in the mid rounds. Extremely inconsistent in college, but I see a lot of tools to like in him. 2 years of coaching and learning and he has a shot to be an NFL QB.

Brett Hundley will not be coming out this year. I agree with everything you just said and I do believe that given some more time in college he will improve. Hundley's struggles are not all on him. You have to remember that UCLA offensive line is made up of almost all true freshman. Pass blocking has been horrendous this year. Not to mention that UCLA and Hundley is missing having Franklin and Fauria.

Physically, he should be the #1 overall pick. But, the guy just can't consistently throw the football accurately, or read a defense. He locks on to his 1st option and if it's not there he either throws it there anyways, or immediately checks down. Doesn't go through his progressions, and he can throw it a mile but like I said, his accuracy is crazy inconsistent. I don't see him as anything more than a backup at the next level, or possibly even changing positions to TE in the future.

Yeah but if you're drafting a mid to late round project QB you aren't going to find many with better tools that Thomas possesses. Everything you described can be fixed with coaching. Not saying its definitely going to happen or anything, but I see him as a kid worth taking a shot at developing in the 4th/5th round. He's not a guy I would draft if we actually were expecting a rookie QB to play any time soon though.

Unless they are drafting a backup, spending a mid to late round pick on a QB is a waste. Very few QBs worth a damn is drafted after the second round. The odds of hitting on one is about like hitting the lottery.
