So intrigued by this kid. I don't think anyone would argue he was a top 10 talent in this class if healthy, maybe even higher.

We've had a propensity for talking LB's that were injured and gambling on them in Lee and Carter.

Could be be our Collins of this year? A bonus 1st round pick. And I do get that he may redshirt this year, but everything seems to be heading in the right direction with his rehab.

6th if his nerve isn't firing at the recheck tomorrow/Friday. 3rd if it is. From every source besides Smith that I've seen, the former is much more expected to be true.

If he's there in the 3rd, I'd definitely take him.

It's doubtful that he plays this season, but he's only 20 years old and was regarded as a top 5 talent in this year's draft before his knee injury.

He could have been the number one prospect overall in this draft if healthy, he is that good.

the draft is how your build a team, not just for the upcoming season...he is a 2017 and beyond guy...if his knee holds up when tested, then he might be worth higher than the 3rd...especially if dallas ever traded down to StL (for example) and picked up their two second rounders....

At some point in the 5th round you're more or less buying lotto tickets in most drafts. I'd say there.

Considering our track record of drafting late 3rd round talent of late..... I'd say that'd be a great starting point.

So anywhere after late 3rd......

Probably in the 4th round. I would personally bring in different doctors because I don't trust our medical staff.

The big thing is if he can get going in 2017 that's a plus since I don't know how much longer Lee will be playing.

The 4th round is where you start to have players that are iffy to be a quality player in the league.

Our medical staff includes the doctor who performed the surgery.

Comes down to the check up today/tomorrow.

If he's progressing to the point docs are hopeful, 3rd round. If they still fear significant knee nerve damage, he might not even be an option on my board.

I did read one story where a doc said the fact he's been able to work out his legs as hard as he has might lead him to believe he's progressing very well but without seeing the scans, etc. it would be hard to reach a definitive conclusion.

I'd use the compensatory 4th rounder on him. From everything I've heard, most people think it's a 'when', not an 'if' regarding the nerve repairing.

Honestly, that would make me more averse to listening to that particular doctor. Too much of a bias.

And the fact of the matter is that our track record with the medical staff has been sketchy at best.

2nd round. Not my style but the Cowboys style for LB's. ;)

Reality is if his knee and nerve tests show improvement, some good team will take a flier on him in the 2nd round possibly. I could see someone like Carolina or Denver just taking a flier on him at the end of the 2nd round because they can afford to.
