Is speed.

We are slow as molasses on Offense. No one can blow the top off the D. We have a bunch of athletic OL but they might be faster than Dez and Witten. Beasley and Lucky are quick, TWill and DStreet can't seperate. McFadden has decent top speed but a gust of wind knocks him off line.

No one on D lights it up either. Our LBs are maulers but they don't fly around. RGregory has some great explosion but that is different. If anyone in the secondary is really fast I have yet to see it. I know they take bad angles to make up for the lack of speed.

BCarter had the type of speed at SAM we need. A burner at CB or FS is a must. A WR4/KR needs to be a rocket.

The biggest pet peeve of mine is when people say Randle/McFadden/Turbin are change of pace RBs. No, they are interchangeable substitutes. Change of pace is someone FAST.

I agree they lack speed. WR'S especially.

Change of pace doesn't necessarily mean fast, it just means change of pace. Could be slower. Semantics.

I'm looking for a Sproles, DLewis, CJSpiller type of change of pace after pounding a big back all game.

Good point. We could use a DeSean Jackson type of deep threat down the field.

Claiborne had good speed Coming out of college, but injuries have slowed him down.

Lee and McClain have decent speed for lbs, but injuries are always an issue with them. When they are both healthy and on the field at the same time, they are ok.

And a burner on punts and kickoffs wouldn't hurt either.

Dunbar could be that guy, but he can't stay on the field.

Yeah he showed some real promise. Will he be the same when he comes back and how much money does he want for a part time role?

You are preaching to the choir my friend and I 100% agree. Speed is a very important part of things you need to get done in football. Everyone doesn't have to have that type of speed, but you need it sprinkled throughout your team. 2 speed receivers with 4.3 or 4.2 speed. Even if you can't get him to catch complicated passes, he can catch a short crossing pass or a swing pass, or retun punts or something. And safeties that can fly and cover ground quickly to help out on these receivers that always seem to be in single coverage with no help.

Exactly. A WR, a RB, a TE, a LB, a FS, a KR, a couple STers.

Panthers are a mold of Seattle 3 years ago. Big, physical and fast.

It's the new M.O. in the NFL.

The Iggles on the other hand, are small and quick and they try to beat you with scheme and brains. That doesn't work anymore.

The Pats are the exception.

I thought Lucky and T-Will were burners...

Disagree that speed would make a difference but I agree we lack an abundance of it. Garrett would stifle our speed with his conservative and unimaginative coaching even if we had more speed. This team has to win despite our coaching and therefore we are dependent on our "leaders" too much and we grant leadership and authority to the likes of Bryant and Hardy meaning all eyes aren't on the prize. These guys get distracted by crap that has nothing to do with winning and team.

All of Garrett's sentimentality, nostalgia and theatrics with pep talks, speakers coming in, Nyc visits may have a chance at motivation but he kills it himself by trotting out that tired manage the game crap till their down two scores thinking offense is a light switch. Then I'm screaming to Romo, Witten, Lee (when he plays) to make a play. The biggest deficiency of this team in my opinion is guts. Guts to put The likes of Dez, Hardy, Lee, McClain, Church and Carr where they belong. Either off the team or demoted to where they have to prove the status they have been gifted. I believe this would help this team to be more singular minded in winning because leadership would flow through those that want to win first with whatever sacrifices that need to be made. Sorry for the ramble. I'm pissed like the rest of you.
