What this win means

It actually means nothing. The season is all about Philly.

I did worry about a scenario where they beat Philly and still lost the division at 7-9. That risk has been removed.

A simple minded person might say it means nothing basing it solely on chances to win the NFC East. But this game meant a great deal as I stated in the OP.

Here is where you are wrong...

A dummy like you will say they have momentum. A dummy like you won’t understand that Dallas is a week to week team. Totally unpredictable. That comes from bad coaching, the opponent, and a toxic culture. When you have an unpredictable variable like this team you have to go with pure math. Mathematically this game meant nothing. Mathematically next week means everything. A dummy like you can’t see that so just keep being a dummy.

Well I looked it up and here’s what a front runner is:
What does it mean to be a FrontRunner?
noun. a person who leads in any competition. an entrant in a race who breaks to the front immediately and establishes the pace for the field.

Thanks for the compliment!

i expect nothing less from a Garrett groupie

the Falcons beat the Niners today

are the Falcons a better team than the Niners?

It largely meant little because we could have lost today and still won the division.

Sure, if we beat Philly next week we win the division but I didn't expect this team would beat Philly in Philly and then spit the bit against the Skins a week later. But maybe I expect too much out of these guys.

This is the only relevant point for me. Despite the disapproval some hold, and their dislike for what Jerry Jones might do, and some fans appreciation for wins regardless of Garrett's future, any and all dislike should be directed at the players.

Why?

Coaches do not play. Jones is not quarterbacking, rushing or tackling. The players have done what it takes to rack up seven wins. They may do enough to beat the Eagles next week and extend their season.

Perhaps the real target of some people's outrage for Garrett's not getting a pink slip should be the players. o_O

To me this win means that this game should have been the division clincher and playing for the 3 or 4 seed.

Maybe but bad coaching may not prevent good players from winning this season's NFC East title.

How have you been old friend? Hope you are doing well. :)

Dude... I'm so old I can't see straight... literally... ;-)

Always nice to see you posting DE... we go WAY back...

4. It will silence the quitters, losers or haters (whatever name you want to use) for at least until they watch Stephen A. Smith and then they’ll be back whining about something.

We’re not quitters, losers or haters. The team had lost 3 in a row and 4 of their last 5. There were consistently poor coaching decisions and a field goal kicker with the league’s worst percentage who seemed to be made of Teflon.

They’ve turned it around this week and, believe me, the fans that you call haters are thrilled. If they beat the Eagles next week, and I believe that they will, there’s still enough time to get this ship moving in the right direction and to make a run.

It didn't mean anything. Sets up some ratings for the NFL next week, of which we will lose like we always do. I have ZERO doubts

There are many posters here who want to see the Cowboys fail. Just keep reading this thread.

You are so wrong about this. Calling the team out for playing well below their talent level does not equal rooting for them to fail.

Every Cowboys fan on this board, no matter who they like or don’t like on this team or in the organization, wants to see the Cowboys win Super Bowl 54. To say otherwise is silly, @Rockport

This means that Garrett finally learns how to coach when his job is on the line. If Jerry didn't spoil him and cuddle him like his beloved son this team would be playing lights out.

Thats great but Garrett still needs to go. He will eventually go back to his status quo style and we are back in square one.
