What will it take for Wade to remain the coach of the Cowboys?

For me it's simple. Go DEEP into the playoffs. Just making the playoffs and winning one game is not good enough. I think this football team has enough talent to not only win the NFC East, but go deep into the playoffs. Last Saturday night proved that. If they play up to their ability, cut down on costly mistakes and finish drives, we can be competitive with any team in the NFC. Heck, we just beat one of the best teams in the league in my opinion. The only missing ingredients for this team are motivation, discipline and heart. Wade has to take the next step if he is going to lead us to the promise land.

If he keeps that up then we will win the SB and he will keep his job. If we slip back into mediocrity again and miss the playoffs or have a one and done in the playoffs then he will not be back!! I find that very hard to believe. I think a division title, winning that first playoff game at home, and being very competitive in the 2nd playoff game is the bare minimuim. If Wade does this, I give him a 2 year extension.

But those are two extremes you listed (win SB or go one and done). What if it is actually something in the middle???

I agree. That would be a HUGE step in my opinion, considering how long its been since we've had that kind of success.

Exactly, lets just see some movement in the right direction. Lets win these two remaining games, post a winning record in December finally, win our 2nd division title in 3 years, and end the 13 yr drought by finally winning a dam playoff game.

I would be thrilled with just that and would want both Wade and Garrett to stay.

It has to depend on how close Jerry thinks the team is to putting it all together. Would you really want to blow it up and start over with a new coach/system/coordinators?

I guess I don't have the Wade hate some people do, and I don't see anybody out there that's enough of a slam-dunk to take over and get it done right away to be worth taking any steps back for.

What will it take? Jerry extending his contract.

I have said it many times but I think getting this team over the post season failure hump will go a long way in Wade getting an extension on his contract.

I can’t agree with the grass is greener on the other side crowd who wants a big name coach, I want to win and if Wade can make that happen I’ll be more than happy to see him remain as coach instead of seeing this team going through yet another rebuilding
