What will the Vikings O try to attack to start the game?

It sounds like the Vikings staff anticipated the Cowboys beating Philly and therefore used the week off to prepare for the Cowboys and as a result have had two weeks to focus on Dallas. Therefore, I suspect their staff thinks they have identified a few things they think they can do against our defense. Perhaps they see something like the Cardinals saw against Green Bay that allowed them to rip up their D?

I'm not an x & o expert so I don't know where our weaknesses are on defense. I've heard it mentioned that it's the middle of the field and specifically Booby C. I really don't know one way or another.

What do you guys that know what your looking at think Minnesota might try to attack to start the game?

Where are our weaknesses on D?

I'm guessing they're going to hit us with lots of quick passes and perhaps a few draws to keep the pass rush away from Favre, but that's just my simplistic amateur perspective.

I see tons of slants and screens. They will try and limit our pass rush so look for that quick read and pass offense.

This.

I agree, I see alot of quick slants and screens to get AD and Harvin out in the open.

Where did you get your facts about the vikings anticipating our victory? Doesn't sound like a real smart thing to do, what if the eagles won that game?nothing but wasted time. Unless their coaches put in the extra work to study both. That's not out of the question.

Also look for them to try and run the ball early. In the passing game look for the fullback and tight end to chip block Ware and Spencer. The Vike's backs are good at catching passes out of the backfield so look for some screens and swing passes into the flats. Farve will be more patient than McNabb and will dink and dunk there way down the field and then later on in the game if our safeties creep up to help with the run or our corners jump the short stuff look for a big play down field.

I read it in the newspaper, they said they were preparing for Dallas and think they have an advantage because of the extra time to prepare.

Heh, they must have not seen Philly as a threat.

I think we will see a lot of up the gut runs that go right at Spears. Igor has been stout in the run game but I think we are weak up the middle vs. the run. Then I expect lots of play action throws to intermediate routes.

Philthy's TE Brent Celek hurt our D in both games.

So, look for their TE Shiancoe early and often.

I'm sure they prepared for multiple teams, but if Philly would have won, they'd be going to New Orleans, not Minnesota, so I doubt that they prepared for Philly.

Yep...

The key to this game will be halftime adjustments...

Either of these teams is capable of getting out to a comfortable lead by half. I like our chances, but this game will be won or lost in the second half...

Man, I dropped the ball and can't recall which article I read that in. I believe it said something to the effect that since they hadn't played the Cowboys in a while, the coaches used the week off focusing on the Cowboys.

Middle of the field hurts us at times but if we can get to Farve and get him under pressure it is less an issue.

We have to tackle while the two games to the Giants Scandrick tackled like crap and the wr went wild on us. They just have to get Percy to the ground and wrap up on Peterson

I would imagine that the Minny coaching staff is watching those two Giant games this year over and over...

We beat ourselves in those games so I doubt they will get too much...

Scandrick blew a lot of tackles in the 1st game and lost his chance at the starting CB role Jenkins started the next week and it was over. That was the start of a rough patch for Scandrick but he has bounced back the last month and is playing his best ball of the season.

Tackling, and more tackling Harvin scares me more than Desan because he can break tackles and has speed where Jackson is small and light and pure speed

They're not really a slant team, and they'll know that we do a pretty good job on screens. I expect they'll start by spreading us wide and trying to get the ball off before we can get to them off the edge. I think they'll test Sensabaugh and Newman.

At some point early, they'll test our run defense, but I don't think they'll have enough success doing that to make a steady diet of it. If we stop the run and they don't have time to take advantage of the secondary by spreading us out, we'll have a huge advantage the rest of the way.

Harvin scares me as well...

We need to hit him early and often... especially over the middle...

Their receivers seem larger and more physical than any we've seen since perhaps San Diego, am I giving them too much credit?

I think their offense as a whole can play a more physical game like we typically get from the Giants that has given us trouble.

I sure hope we start fast because imo we can't afford to waste too many opportunities or momentum

They'll try to establish the run first at all cost so they aren't one dimensional.

Their WRs aren't big outside of Rice. He is a 6-4 WR, the rest are listed at 180s and 5-11 to 6-1. Considering the heights in the NFL are frequently questionable I'd say the size of their WRs isn't the big issue.

We just can't go around whiffing on tackles like we did in that last Giants game. Of course we haven't been doing that for the last month anyway.
