I don't know.... I had my gripes about the Tuna, but overall, I had a lot of respect for the man, and I'm sad to see him go. I'm a little disappointed that so many fans are thrilled about his departure and gloating over it so eagerly on cyberspace. So here's a little something to bring out the positives with ol' Bill.

What will you miss most about Bill Parcells?

For me, the press conferences. I freaking loved Bill Parcells press conferences. No one could make reporters his female dog as skillfully as Bill. Jimmy could do some things with the media, but I've never seen a coach until Bill who could handle the dumb questions so well. But it wasn't just that, it was also Bill's natural born teacher side. If you wanted to be a football coach, you listen to enough Bill Parcells press conferences and he'll teach you how to be one. He was always open to sharing his perspectives on coaching, how he motivated players, strategies he thought were successful or unsuccessful. You could tell he really had a passion for coaching and liked to pass his experience on to any reporter who really wanted to pick his mind. Streaming the daily press conference from the Cowboys website was always something I looked forward to, no matter what the record. I'll really miss them and don't think I'll listen to them as much with whomever replaces Bill.

I'd have to say his PCs too

love his stories of former players, and talking about the young guys currently on the roster who he reallys likes, he's like a beaming father talking about some of these players, it's funny hearing him call a 34 year old Aaron Glenn, a good 'kid', and even though you see how he reacts w/ reporters, all meanlike, but when you actually listen to him talk, he seems like a real, personable guy, if you just weren't trying to prod a story from him, BIll is an interesting guy, and I wouldn't mind spending just 5 minutes talking to the man

I'd have to say the excitement of having a legendary coach that brought in a lot of talent and then coached a 9-7 season...I'm gonna miss that next year.

the press conferences were like listening to a comedy act, hopefully the next coach can say half of the things like Bill said

Glad to see him go, but I do have a few things that I'll miss.

1. PCs. Golden.
2. Having him in the war room on draft day. I think that will hurt most.

That was way easier than listing the things I won't miss. :)

Other than his terse and witty media moments, absolutelly nothing.

One of the all time great coaches on a very very short list, but I will never view him as a Cowboy...he was the face of the Giants.

(Also the reason I never want to see Russ Grimm and his HOG nose in Dallas)

Without a doubt the PCs........They were informative, funny, and a lesson in how to handle the press.

I will miss his ability to control Owens. The way you deal with a baby is to ignore him. BP was brillant and kept those distractions to a minimum. I will also miss his ability to keep Jones away from the draft. Even though the Tuna was exposed as human in his recent drafts, they still weren't anyonewhere near as bad as when Jerry was calling the shots.

Damn. The hate towards Bill is strong here. You know what they say... be careful what you wish for. You fellas want the old Jerry system back, you got it.

It's funny how people who played the game give him much more credit than Cowboys fans do. I think we have less understanding of the good he accomplished and only tend to look at the bottom line.

People who've been in the game say Parcells has made a positive impact on the direction of this team, and for that I'm eternally thankful.

I remember back to the Campo years when we knew that our team was not going to be competitive. Parcells got us back to competitive, added several top quality players, improved our depth and put us in good position to succeed under the next coach.

Everyone should be thankful for that.

He was articulate, intelligent and always made me smile during his PCs. You could tell he was a man in control of the room.

Oh yeah...and getting schooled by his student. That was a joy to watch.

That is very cynical. What about his scheme and play calling flexibility? You conveniently ignored that attribute and how about his ability to prepare the team for pivotal games. It is aggravating to read only about Parcells faults.

On a more serious note, he underachieved but in the distant future will probably be remember for at least elevating the player talent level on our team.

I must say, he could take a jersey to the face like no other man standing.
