This was from the JJT article today:
"Jones is frustrated because Dallas has not won a playoff game since 1996. He wants to win a Super Bowl now, and he feels this team is good enough to get it done.
So he's looking for players who can contribute now, whether he gets them in the draft or trades those picks for players who can help him win."
If this is really true, I'm scared. Scared because it means we'll be reaching rather than taking BPA. Scared because it eliminates so many good players from our draft board unnecessarily. Scared because we've seen it happen before (see Quincy draft, Lafleur draft, Galloway trade, etc.)
Really, if Jerry is thinking this way, he probably goes best CB at 22, and then Felix Jones at 28 because he "matches" Barber.
Not too bad, except I think Jones is gonna bust and we can get an equally capable RB at 61. Take an oline, take the best TE even, take a WR with some development necessary, take a LB like Rivers just because he's a stud. Heck, take a 2nd cornerback! Let Cason and Flowers (or Jenkins if we're lucky) fight it out for 3 and 4, or even to replace Henry by year's end. But don't fill in players who are only good now--don't be shortsighted in a draft, ever.
