What would it take for Jimmy Johnson to change his mind about coaching?

Thoughts Fans?

I think he could be talked into football again. What would it take to get him.

Me I believe if Jerry Jones give him that General Manager position and a coaching position with very high pay give him more control than you gave Parcells to fix this team up. Tradition is key. 4-3 have always been the Dallas Cowboys tradition.

Money and Power could get Jimmy to move right to Dallas back with Jerry Jones making a dynasty.

it would take me signing a 6 year 100 million dollar contract and hostile signing as the new kicker for the boys.

Jimmy failed in Miami with the current Free Agency System, and not having his All Star Assistant coaches. He would fail here as well.

Agree, nothing here, move along....

The very men that vouch for Jimmy will be the very first to turn on him in about a year or two should he be hired.

In Mick's latest Mail Questions he was asked about Johnson and replied that Johnson was twice asked that question and twice totally dismissed any interest in returning to HC again. Also Mick pointed out Johnson will be 64--just one year younger then Parcells so how is Parcells too old to HC and Johnson at 64 will be OK--that's ridiculous.

Also no way would Jerry Jones ever give up his GM job--that's why he bought the Cowboys. Norv Turner is also an OC with SF and he also isn't interested in returning as an OC with us and frankly Turner isn't a very good HC.

Frankly, I think we haven't heard anything from Parcells yet cause he's coming back and is working out which assistant coaches he wants to bring on to replace those who have already left. Wouldn't be surprised if Pats DC Pepper Johnson is the coach he's after or LeBeau of the Steelers. Same goes for some of the othe assistant coaching jobs. For all we know he's already casually mentioned the matter with Pepper Johnson. Don't forget the Pats run a very similar 3-4 to ours but disguise those pass rushing/blitzes much better then we do. He could lure Johnson here if it was made known to Johnson he would be Parcells successor at end of 07 season.

Jimmy would be a horrible failure here if he came back. I want NO PART of Jimmy Johnson on the sidelines of the Cowboys. I would rather Jerry coached the team, personally.

Jimmy Johnson knows what he's doing. He's a coach that is more open minded than Bill Parcells. Bill Parcells isn't really open minded to new ideas from his younger coaches, he want to run the same old system.

What would it take?

Prolly a written guarantee from the NFL offices that his team would win.
