What would it take to trade for these guys?

It would take several #1 overall picks. Yes...even for some of the OL. If the draft we picked Larry Allen in was done again....he would be the #1 overall pick that year.

Dak would be the #1 overall pick with a future 1st round pick. Zeke would be a top 2 pick with a future 2nd. Tyron Smith would be the #1 overall pick (see Jake Long). Martin would be a top 5 pick. Frederick would be a top 10 pick.

i'd take an early 1st for dez. the rest are off the table. Dak,zeke and the OL are the foundation for the next 5 to 6 years.

A draft pick is only the possibility of getting a star player. So an actual star player you already have is worth a lot more.

The only exception is if you are sure you aren't going to re-sign them anyway, at which point trading them makes sense. Better to get something than nothing. But for a young star, it's almost never worth moving them for draft picks unless the offer is just hilariously large like the Herschel Walker trade was.

for the love of god and over active imaginations.

we luck into the find of the century and people want to trade.

these are the same people who would win a million in a slot machine and turn around and see how much more than could get.

this would be about as assnugget stupid as you can get.

I'm not going to anoint Dak as the "find of the century" until he leads this team past the divisional round, which hasn't happened in over 20 years.

You can get your panties in a bind all you want about my "over active imagination", but I'm not going to call this season a success unless we win the next game, because that's what I consider progress.

If we lose in the divisional round again, this season will just become an asterisk of matching our highest win total in the regular season and a reminder of another lost opportunity in the playoffs.

I love the Dak story so far this season, but this season is not over yet for him. It has a chance to become a dream ending for him and the team or a possible nightmare where finger pointing in the aftermath is inevitable.

As far as a trade goes, only one person can make that "assnugget stupid" decision real and it's Jerry. I don't know what it would take for Jerry to consider trading Dak. I do know, that if we lose again in the divisional round that pulling that trigger becomes less far fetched.

Oh yeah, if I won a million on a slot machine I would take the money and run and never look back! :)

I was having a conversation with a friend today about how rarely trades happen in today's NFL. He posed an interesting question.

As a purely hypothetical question, what would it take for the Cowboy's to trade_______?

Dak
Zeek
Dez
Smith
Frederick
Martin
Etc.
Jerry would have to have finally drank himself stupid!

No way would they even entertain trade offers for Dak, Zeke or T. Smith right now. It is too hard to find franchise QBs in this league. Great young left tackles are almost impossible to get too. Frederick possibly for a high 1st and a high 2nd at least.

To answer this is extremely easy. The question was what would it take to tempt Dallas to trade any of those players and the answer is simply as guaranteed spot in the Super Bowl the next 5 years because when you get down to it, the only thing Jerry and for that matter the rest of the organization care about is winning another few Super Bowls and so since no team could make a trade that guarantees that right, then nothing would tempt them to trade any of those named guys.

I think as hard as it is to hit on a QB I just would not take the chance to trade away our QB for a hope or maybe. I watch so many teams including the Cowboys go through QB after QB before finding a quality QB. Once you find that guy I keep him.

One player (Dez) is not in the same category as the others. They could cut him and get a better player for what he is getting paid. If they could trade him for anything and use his salary on a reliable #1 WR, then they would be way ahead.

it's assnugget stupid. we find a qb everyone *would* trade for likely and we have a mindset that isn't happy to have and build, but just pick players and trade for more picks.

So you want to trade away what you want to draft in the first place? Sounds like a Browns or eagles thought process

Honest hypothetical question...

Green Bay wants to trade Aaron Rodgers for Zeke and Dak straight up...

Do you do it?

Well, that's sounds like a perfectly honest hypothethtical question to me. Unfortunately, you won't get much of a response since apparently most here think like this...

TRADER!!!
