What would you rate Osa as a DT?

This makes zero sense. In a thread about rating a player, why click into the thread if you're not interested in rating the player?

Very weird rant.
if you read it, i prove i like the guy. Id rather take him being a not so great talent over better talent. Why? he shows up, so far his body is holding up and that is better than the better talented guy. I rate him higher than a Sean Lee because Osa is still on the field giving you his best, or possibly better depending on the coaches. I disagree with the question because the question is part of a broken chain. Who cares about the player and what hes doing, can his body hold up, can he give you the job on the field. If the coaches line up and i want to believe in these coaches, but it will come down to two people, Eberflus and Jerry, Jerry outranks Eberflus, so if Jerry dont want to win, nothing E can do, but i really want to believe that E is a better DC than he is a HC and will have a good player like Osa doing better, but its hard to RATE Osa because hes going into a new system now. I think Osa was more of a useful cog in a system than any player whos body cant hold up BUT we dont know what was asked, some players do whats asked from the coach and sometimes its just a good player in a bad system. Not the players fault.

On a scale from 1-10? I was looking at him working out with some of the other defenders the other day, the guy is RIPPED!! He's a hard worker in the weight room, seems to be a high character guy. Based on his production what rating would you give him. He seems to make that one big TFL every game, and then he seems to go quiet.

Now hear me CZ faithful, I said quiet, not that he's terrible, doesn't deserve his money, he's a bust, etc etc! So this isn't me bashing him, just want to know how you feel! Please give your thoughts (you haven't heard that in a while!)
If Jalen Carter is a 9.5

Osa is a 6.0

Then why are you so against rating players?

The broken chain thing I find off base. No one has to play. They are paid millions and it's all part of being paid millions. If you hate it that much, then why do you even pay attention to football? Once again, makes no sense.

Do we have the interior guys in the OL that we are counting on very heavily to handle the quick guys ..?

We have to face the likes of Jalen Carter (Philly) but is it enuff to have the two Tyler's ..and Cooper Beebe to handle a Jalen Carter ..?
That may depend on how much help our tackles need in pass defense.

you find the combine to be an exact science? every player is worth the round they are chosen in?

Whoooooaaa, hossie. How in the world did you get there? I'm not making any sense out of what you're trying to say. Can you clarify?

Aside from you being against rating players, I'm just not able to get what you're trying to say here.

I would rate him a 6 or 7 (nearer to the 7)

Solid. Nothing special.

Currently, I’d rate him as a 7, but here’s another question that makes me wonder what he is truly capable of….who is the best DT that OSA has lined up beside?

Bob Lilly and Jethro Pugh had each other.
Randy White had John Dutton inside and Harvey Martin outside on either side of him.
On the 90’s SB teams, Russell Maryland had Leon Lett, Tony Casillas, and Jimmy Jones.

Who has OSA had beside him at DT in his first 4 seasons?

I personally think Osa would be fine w/ a big talented NT next to him.

no way would I ever put him with Jethro Pugh
I understand and many (possibly most) would agree with you.

I made that comparison because Pugh was a longtime dependable starter. However, he never once made the Pro Bowl in his 14 year career.

Pugh was a very good DT but he played next to Hall of Famers during his career with the exception of two seasons. The other 12 seasons it was either Bob Lilly or Randy White.

I'm also not saying that they had similar skill sets, I look at their value to the team as a contributing factor.

Osa has played for only four years but he has not missed a start in the past three seasons. That type of dependability has value.

To be fair, I should have qualified my statement by comparing only Pugh's first four years with the Cowboys.

However, if you valued Jethro Pugh far more than Osa there is no way I can argue that.

Good points but let me ask you this, doesn't Micah command enough attention as to where he should be one on one with his man (OSA) and win some matchups because of the attention placed on Micah

I like him a lot. His balance and leverage are excellent. That's what it takes working through the trash getting to the quarterback. And of course strength
