Regular season game.

Good luck, you are going to need it.

Playoffs, well, that's when the Colts fall apart. Every year. Must be very frustrating for a Colt fan.

But watch out, if you have to play the Colts during the regular season, well, oh my, and good luck.

luck won't be enough for this D to pull through against Manning and the Colts

I dunno - I look back at that Denver game last year on Thanksgiving. Denver had been playing some tough ball and was considered one of the top 3 teams in the league at the time. And that game should still be considered one that "got away."

But I still don't think the Cowboys will beat the Colts.

I was more worried of Washington than Indy. The more games they win, the better our percentages are.

Bears lost to Miami. How bout that one. Saw the score and said, WHAT!!!!! On any given Sunday. But after years of watching and our team playing the Colts, regular season, trouble. Playoffs, the Manning choke.

Well, maybe one year Manning will not choke. Don't really care. In the playoffs against the Colts I feel OK. Not against Denver.

But, is it the Colts year??? I'm sorry, I have just seen too much of Manning in the playoffs. Bum. Don't quite get it. Regular season, top notch. Playoffs, bum. You go figure it.

I don't know Pats fan....

I mean, Romo is no Tom Brady.

OOOOPS!!

I forgot....I used the two QBs in the same sentence.

I know that's somehow wrong.

You know I was right in making that statement. I had a martini and it got to me and I threw it out on the board.

Now, when Aikman won (what how many Bowls) and some other team compared him to Aikman after one game starting -- well, what would you say?? Same as me, no brainer.

So, OK let it go already. You still have to play the Colts. Good luck.

Honestly, I don't mind the Colts. The only team in the NFL I really don't like is the Steelers. So, I guess I am having a good year in that regard. Steelers 2-6. Sweet.

Peyton may lose in the playoffs but he never had the benefit of the Tuck rule!!!

No, it isn't a big deal.

People compared Carson Palmer to Aikman before the draft and my panties didn't wad up like yours. It was merely a comparison of how they look...

There's merely a comparison being made between Romo and Brady, and you spazz out. No one said that Romo is as good as Brady...I could understand your indignation at that. But their situations are similar....Their demeanor is a lot alike, and neither was really thought highly of in the draft.

Romo reminds me of Drew Brees.....

Does this statement mean that I think Romo is as good as Drew Brees?

No.....

It's just the way they carry themselves, their size, their skill set....

Just as Palmer isn't as good as Aikman right now, they look very much alike when they play. I don't have a problem with people saying that Palmer is a younger version of Aikman....I had no problem with it when Palmer was a rookie. Mainly because I understood that it was a comparison to give us an idea of what type of player Palmer COULD WIND UP being....Not the type of player he was.

Get over yourself......

Well, if you did not see the game, it did not determine the outcome. But you know it doesn't matter. Tuck rule, tuck rule.

'Tuck' rule tabled until May
4648.jpg
By Vic Carucci
NFL Insider

ORLANDO, Fla. (March 19, 2002) - The "tuck rule" drew plenty of conversation at the NFL meetings.
In the end, however, there was no clear sense of what to do about it.
So instead of making a change, owners decided to table discussion about the controversial topic until their next meetings in May.
"You can't approach this thing in a knee-jerk fashion because of the effect it has on the game," said Tennessee Titans coach Jeff Fisher, co-chairman of the league's competition committee. "This has a big, big effect on the game."
The long-standing rule had not been discussed for years -- that is, until the New England Patriots' overtime victory against the Oakland Raiders in the divisional playoffs. Late in regulation, Patriots quarterback Tom Brady initially was ruled to have fumbled while being hit from behind. However, after a review by instant replay, Brady was ruled to have thrown an incomplete pass because his arm was going forward and he had not tucked the ball completely into his body.
The Patriots went onto to tie the game, force the extra period, and would proceed to win the Super Bowl.
For the past two days, club executives and coaches debated the issue of when the motion of the quarterback's arm still indicates that he intends to throw the ball, and at what point he was trying to tuck the ball away to run.
"As we discussed it, it didn't get clearer," said Tampa Bay Buccaneers general manager Rich McKay, the other co-chairman of the competition committee. "It got murkier."
By tabling discussion about changing the rule, all 32 teams will have time to study tapes of a variety of plays involving balls being knocked loose from quarterbacks.
No more votes will be taken during the session, which officially will conclude soon after the NFC coaches' annual media breakfast and other non-legislative activity on March 20.
Owners did approve some minor rules adjustments, including:
  • Banning artificial noise -- such as blaring music over the public-address system -- in stadiums once the 25-second play clock has started for the visiting team. Previously, the ban began after the team had broken the huddle.
  • Making chop blocks illegal on kickoff and punt returns as well as on plays from scrimmage.
  • Not starting the clock on a kickoff until the receiving team touches the ball and begins to advance it. Previously, that rule only applied in the final two minutes. For the rest of the game, the clock started when the ball was kicked.
  • Running the clock after a sack in the final two minutes of each half. During the rest of the game, the sub-two-minute rule will come into play, where the clock stops for about five seconds, then restarts.
  • Adjusting the tiebreaker system so it conforms to the league's realignment into eight four-team divisions to accommodate the arrival of the Houston Texans. Now, common opponents is the third tiebreaker within a division after head-to-head games and division record because each of the four teams will have 14 common games in the 16-game schedule.

Tom Brady threw what 4 INT's against the colts?

They are going to be scoring so fast it's inevitable that Romo will be making mistake after mistake against their defense as we try to catch up.

I was really up on Palmer. Really up. Thought the guy was going to be the next coming. But lately, he has not played well.

I wonder, do you think that hit last year in the playoffs did that??? I sure hope not. Darn Steelers. I like new and upcoming QB's. I watched that kid Leinart play in a game and liked what I saw. It is fun to watch guys like that. You know you have to love football first. Well, Ok your team is first, but that doesn't mean you cannot enjoy a good QB. I think Romo is playing well, but, until they show something with substance, it is just promise.

Lots of promise. But football is a fun game.

Oh, and last night the Pats stunk up the place. But it is the playoffs that count. We will be there, Manning and the Colts will be there. That is when it really counts.

Tough to make a call on the SB this year. Need a few more weeks to see what develops. Thought Chicago might be there, but I am having my doubts now. Giants, nah.

I say, well, too soon.

Brady, 4 picks. Most the receivers fault. Doesn't matter, 4 picks. The Pats are a work in progress. Hopefully, it will come together when it counts.

Missing, Adam (darn), McGinnest (darn), Branch (darn), Givens (darn). But who am I but a simple fan.
