everyone wants to put this on missing Zeke and what he meant to this team and how he helped us be a 28/gm team to now being 7. fact is that our running game is OK. its good enough to carry the team. what's obvious is the passing game is in shambles and most of the blame lay on the OL. Dak has not had time to throw and is been under constant assault.

the game against Atlanta was eye opening. and it was easy to say then, "yeah, Smith is missing". but the next game, the middle of the line was breaking down and assault was coming from both sides....yesterday was the same, it wasn't smith, the right side was awful, bosa was having his way with the OL and I counted three times at least when their DL came through, un touched....UNTOUCHED. and all they did was a simple delay stunt.

I started to notice that Dak got jittery yesterday and would stare down his first option and just go there, because he was expecting pressure.this OL is not playing well. when Dak gets more than a couple of seconds, he does try to go down field. on top of that Dez and Williams are not getting separation down field. and when opportunities are there, they are not cashing in.

with that said, coaches haven't adjusted the game plan to do quick three step drop and throw the ball, to slow down the pass rush. most of Dak's drops where 5 and 7 steps drops.

the offense is not in sync at all. teams have figured out how to attack this OL and even having Dez probably wouldn't have made much of a difference. much like the Denver game.

The malaise has spread to Frederick and Martin to a certain extent as well. Neither have been playing at an All-Pro level this season.

I know some of it can be attributed to new players on either side (Cooper/Green and Collins), but it's a bit disconcerting.

he has been gone for a while so that excuse is BS. They were doing quite well last year without him.
Fredbeard has not been right this whole season and Zack seems like he is injured; not sure what was happening yesterday with him.
Zach went out in first qtr

He was never going to stay, that said they need a new oline coach for sure

no, i think he wanted a higher title and dallas wouldnt give it to him or something like that. I cant remember for sure, but i think we could have kept him.

we saw a decline and than a pick up and than its just been debatable. Keeping Dez and letting Leary walk has been a factor as well. I am all for Dez but we had no plan for eitiher way it went.

The OL is only as strong as its weakest link.....and there are several weak links on this chain. so one or two playing at All Pro level would not help anyway. But i agree this line is just not the same even the all pro guys. Add the absence of Zeke and the underwhelming Dez, with an inconsistent Dak, and you get a disaster of a season. We did not even talk about the defense back seven who have sucked big time with the exception of Lee. who is now also out.. .. and don't get me started on the idiot coaching being done.

Letting Leary walk was a huge mistake. But you know Jerry just had to hand a job to Collins after his brilliant move to sign him.

Letting Callahan walk was such a smart move.
that's a few years now. this OL was playing well last year. they have played well in spurts this year, but there has been a lack of continuity on the OL, and more than any other group, they need to play as one unit, one failure and the whole thing falls apart. the coaching decision to not commit to cooper as LG and then smith, now martin injuries. to add to it, the coaching staff hasn't done a good job of accounting for those losses. they insist on continuing and expecting the players to execute the same scheme, where their abilities and skills are not the same. they are not playing to the strength of the players they have.

Any OL can be beaten if the defense can just rush the passer with minimal worries about big plays from the running game.

eagles don't have a super start RB. NE doesn't have a super star RB. chargers RBs underwhelm more than anything. Minn. doesn't have a super RB and the guy they drafted got injured.

if your entire success depends on one player and a single scheme, then your scheme sucks. we have been getting rushing yards we need to keep defenses honest. but continuously failed to onvert 3rd and 3s and 3rd and 4s.

its a passing league. you have to pass to be successful. and chargers did that yesterday. Rivers had plenty of time to sit in the pocket, go through his progression and wait for his WRs to get open. Dak was under constant pressure. he started to hear foot steps and he started to stare his WRs and not go through his progression in fear of getting hit, sacked, etc. the same for eagles game. the OL is playing at a very low level right now.

Yesterday there was plenty if pocket time.
The problem was the routes being run are telegraphed, there us no creativity STILL and Dak is scared and low in confidence...
I disagree. there wasn't a lot of time. watch the game again. watch Rivers stand in the pocket for 3, 4 seconds, scan the field, wait for his WRs to get open. just standing clean in the pocket. then watch dak, getting pressured and having to constantly move to get more time.....

the OL play was awful and has been bad the past few games. Atlanta was obviously one of the worst ever. eagles game wasn't much better. there were three occasions yesterday I recall, that the DL men came through at Dak, untouched....with a simple delay stunt....
