Me I like

www.imdb.com for actual information on what movies certain actors are working on and such...

www.moviehole.net for movie gossip and news...

Anyone else know of any decent movie update sites?

movies.com used to be pretty good, just because they had a list of what movies were scheduled for release the next few months. About 6 mos ago, they revamped their site and no longer have this feature. Now I just get movie news as I can.

I am an IMDB addict. There are so many links to follow from that site. I could honestly spend hours on that site.

Same here.

I get bored at work, and this site is going slow...I will go to IMDB and look up different movies and click on the trivia links for the movies.

www.themoviespoiler.com has saved me hundreds of dollars.

It provides detailed recaps of pretty much every major movie released recently. It takes about 10 minutes to read a recap and then you realize that most movies out there are crap and a waste of money to see. If I see something that sounds good, I stop reading the recap before I get to the end and then go out and see it.

Just remember if you go there... it will tell you pretty much everything about the movie!

The funny thing about it is that, since I know the whole plot of the movie, I'll often reference a movie I read about in a conversation, and people will ask me "Oh, how was that movie?" and I'll have to admit I never saw it, but that I know what its about and how it ends. :D

The one thing I really like using it for is for those shlocky movies that are churned out constantly that promise some shocking twist or ending. (Flight Plan, Butterfly Effect, Hide and Seek, The Lake House, Don't Say a Word, etc, etc). They almost always suck, but are adverstised well to make people think they "have" to see it so they can learn the answer to the "twist" teased in the commerical. I just read it on The Movie Spoiler and then I learn the answer to the "shocking twist" without having to see the crappy movie. I can't wait until The Wicker Man is on there so I can see what that's all about, because the commericals look suspensful, but you gotta know the movie is gonna suck.

Also, I find www.rottentomatoes.com to be the best movie review site out there.

The whole twist has become so overused in the last decade, ever since The Usual Suspects. The only ones that worked were the aforementioned movie, Momento, and I suppose The Sixth Sense (although I have to admit to not really liking it very much.) Usually a twist is just a weak plot device hack directors use to get out of corners they've painted themselves into.

Butterfly Effect didn't suck, and wasn't really a twist ending either. The rest of the ones you mentioned, that I've seen, did suck though. And The Wicker Man was awful....very awful.

As for sites....http:\\www.aintitcool.com was one that used to have good info once in awhile, but it's pretty much a joke now and a place to see people whine about every little thing in movies.

My favorite site is http://www.darkhorizons.com/news.php Pretty good info, and plenty of links to news on other sites as well. Release date info, interviews, trailers, etc.

www.rottentomatoes.com is very good.

It's a collection of dozens of reviews of each movie and each one is given a rating based on how many reviewers say the film is rotten and how many say it's fresh.
