Parcells believes in giving the vets due diligence and not letting his rookies get too high an opinion of themselves. In Carpenter's case, the starter is Singleton, followed by Rocky Boiman and then comes Carpenter; in Fasano's case, it's Witten, Hannam and then Fasano; in Watkins case, it's Keith Davis followed by Pile and then Watkins. Coleman is a backup at CB not FS.
I would look for a change on the depth chart some time in the 2nd week, particularly where Carpenter & Fasano are concerned.
Actually Pat McQuistan was with the 1st team after Flo didn't make the time in the conditioning run.sago1 said:All of our 06 draft picks are playing on the 3rd team including first rounder Rob Carpenter. Did Fasano wear 88 at ND?BlueWave said:Looks like his number 88 will be open now.

Why? If he wants it, let him have it.BlueWave said:Yes, but I'm sure they will wait a few days anyway.
That's what Bluewave was saying. #88 is now available for the 2006 season. I say if Fasano wants it, let him have it. I would in his shoes.rathalarge said:Brett Pierce wears #88 i thought. Of course, he was injured today and will be placed on IR.

Why should they? They didn't for #7 when Hutch was waived. Henson wanted it, he got it.fortdick said:Before they give away the number, they ought to at least let Pierce think, if only for a while, he can recover! Geez! Why don't y'all just dig a hole and throw the guy in it! Maybe sell some organs for transplant. Pierce feels bad enough, I am sure, without the team confirming his worst fears by giving away his number!

Who is Brett Pierce to get butt sore over a # he can't wear any more in 2006?
who cares, like Pierce cant wear anything but 88? Im sure he'd be more than willing to take whatever number he can get if he ever does play football again. Fasano a 2nd rd pick should get it, because that #47 is weird.fortdick said:Hos, I thought you were one of the good guys!
Waiving a guy is one thing. To flat out tell a guy you will never again be a Cowboy by giving his number away is another.
I know y'all are mercenaries here, but hopefully Jerruh and Bill have more compassion for their guys than this board does.
I hope Fasano has enough class not to ask for the number right away. Wait until Pierce makes the decision, then grab it.
